Oct. 3rd, 2016 08:12 amI have a modest goal this October. I want to do something fall/Halloween-ish every day. It doesn't have to be a big thing, like go to the Fair, although I would like to do that. It can be as simple as Saturday's breezing through Walmart and picking up something small, or creating a line for the Hallmark Sally.
Yesterday'sactivity was going to Cass's and rehairing her second 'life size' Sally doll. Jess brought hers and they redid hers in a different shade of red. We hung out, got some lunch*, and hit a few Walgreens to see if they had a thing Cass wanted.
I've gotta say, I'm jealous that the other stores have all this nifty stuff I've seen online. The Halloween Jordana lip creams? Both places had them. The only reason I didn't buy them at either place was because I'd heard that unlike their previous matte lip products, these went on horribly. Don't tell me if this isn't true because I don't need to buy blue lipstick, k? They also had the Batgirl/Harley/I forget the third option makeup sets and things. I doubt we'll get them but I didn't buy anything because I'm trying to be good with my money and Walmart the day before was a big enough hit to the wallet.
Didn't have what Cass wanted and nothing spoke to me enough to make me break my vow of no-spendy, but it was definitely weird to be in other stores and realize our new store might be just like them. I don't really care for their set-up, to be honest. They're an awful lot like CVS and ours isn't set up that way. Guess I'll find out next year.
Got home way later than I thought I was going to when I set out, but it was a good day so not really complaining about anything other than my ankle siezing up the last couple of hours.
Lunch time story: stopped at the Taco Bell (don't judge) by Northwoods. Went in because the drive thru line was long but no one was inside. The guy at the front was very nice, very chatty and flirty and obviously enjoyed his job. Cass goes first and when he asks for her name, she gives it. Then Jess, who tells him Jessica and he goes for Jessie and Cassy and it's a whole rhyming set. And then I'm up and he asks my name and I tell him and the brakes are slammed so hard on the nickname train that I had to laugh. He rebounded well, though, and when he forgot to hand me my cup for my drink, his coworker upgraded my drink to a larger size. Gonna fill out that survey that all stores ask you to do, and give them good marks.
Now to figure out what today's thing will be.
