Nov. 5th, 2020 09:40 amUgh, this election waiting is annoying. I mean, I'd rather wait and get an outcome I want than not wait and get stuck with you know who for the rest of forever, but SC has already deeply disappointed me. They had a legitimate chance to dump Lindsey Graham and instead of taking that chance and running with it they simply voted for Graham. Again. I'm not sure who keeps voting for him because I literally never hear anyone around here say anything nice about the man (hell, the nicest shit I'd heard in years was in the ads for Jamie Harrison talking about how people USED to trust Graham) but here we are. Nancy Mace is most likely going to finish trouncing Joe Cunningham any day now, though I applaud Joe for not conceding until every vote is tallied. Seriously, this is the one year you don't give up early in a local race. Or, y'know, any race.
On the plus side, I did manage to vote for a few people who won. Yay? Hell froze and Al Cannon isn't going to be sheriff anymore (here's a hint as to long he's been around: one of the jails is named for him) probably because he was a dumbass and let the woman who decided to run against him go, saying that he didn't think she'd be loyal to him. To which she replied her job is not to be loyal to him and him thinking that is a big reason she dug in her heels and ran. I managed to pick a couple of other winners but my favorite is the lady who ran for the school board and I'm fairly certain I didn't see a damn sign for her, but I looked her up and she's been busting her ass trying to get someone, anyone, to do something about people speeding by stopped school buses. For years, because I'd found her videos more than a year ago. So this year she decided fuck it, I'm running. And she came out waaaaaaaay ahead of everyone else.
In other news, my nails have gotten quite a few compliments. Not sure if it's the stab at "art" (did the stitches over nude and different colors again this year, only with longer nails and a failure with a brush where the stitches made with last year's toothpick were about the same size, somehow), the nails painted KL Polish's Medusa, or the mix of them (plus the one lone holdout of Zoya's Isa on my left pinkie).
Did I mention I'd bought all four of the latest Retro My Little Ponys? I think I'd mentioned grabbing Gusty, as she was one I always wanted as a kid but had to settle for the BBE baby version. I then waited and waited for Heart Throb, Sparkler, and Surprise to show up at the same goddamn time and that literally took a week and a half of me jumping each time I got a notification. I wasn't completely sold on the other three, but I'd always wanted Heart Throb, too and wondered about Surprise as a kid sooooooo... why the heck not. They're lovely and my inner child cannot stop squeeing. I haven't opened them yet, but just looking at the sticker, I can just SMELL the stickers of my youth. Not sure if these smell the same, but mmm, puffy sticker.
Kay, gonna go check the financials and head off to bed. Ozma sends snuggles.
