Sep. 30th, 2022 05:10 amThis is such a weird hurricane, man. I still feel so bad for Florida because holyshit.
Ian's back up to hurricane status and I swear everything keeps saying 2pm is the kickoff but then you watch the radar in action and it's like 10am you've got the big gusts and rain and then by 1pm it's still bad but not AS bad. o_O Anyway, it started raining maybe around 7pm last night, as I ducked outside to get the drinks from the car and see if Mom had moved it, and noticed it was sprinkling and clearly had been for a little bit but not enough that things were soaked. I'd say we've moved on to actual rain by now and it's so weird to have a hurricane and have the outside temp be 59. o_O
Work sent a text yesterday around 3 saying they'd be closing at 10pm so I didn't need to come in and they'd let me know what today brings. Considering the gusts are still expected to continue through tonight, even if the storm's landfall has moved a smidge north of us, I'm not going out in the aftermath until they've had daylight hours to fix shit so I'm hoping the people who make that call realize that asking otherwise is nuts.
Figure I'll check outside when things get lighter, assuming the wind isn't terrible at that point.
Went ahead and used my AG Reward last night on the Midnight Rose Puff Sleeve top because I don't trust the power to not go out and given there are apparently two AG codes out (one starts tomorrow, one should've started yesterday but no one's been able to get it to work outside of calling AG) I figured if I was trying to con Mom into loaning me the cash and paying her back once my raise goes through, I should just wait until they're working.
I'd originally planned on using it towards the witch costume but I didn't have enough stashed away so here we are.
Used my Bat Spatula/Turner from Target this morning. It's probably best left to cookies and pancake type things but I wanted to feel festive. Not sure if I want to try watching Hocus Pocus 2 or not yet.
Checked a little after 8am and was drenched for my trouble and couldn't see the street through the bands of rain. Checked about ten minutes ago and the street's fine but it's also low tide. Naturally the power has chosen to flicker so... here goes?
