Apr. 4th, 2006 05:18 amIf it takes the threat of the frickin' policeto get you to do what you should have done months ago, you are still worthy of being blacklisted. However, because people are entirely too sweet for their own good, someone is going to waltz out of their drama looking like the victim.
...what? Can't I be cynical and bitchy so early in the week? It just seems a little wrong, and a little on the sketchy side to avoid people, but still use your computer and then claim that yet another tragedy has befallen you, but you will overcome, you will make things right, but not because it's good for you, but because you just want to be done with it. Whatever happened to doing the right thing?
Which is pretty much why I loathe large groups of people. I fixate on things, on wording, on people and their inability to just not suck. :p
Speaking of suckage and Pullips, those of you who venture into the land of pink, or know those who do. NTP. Nana and her owner... uh... kenji, mebbe? I need to know if my eyes are wonky, but did the rules just not apply to her/him/them? Eye candy for sure, but... meh?
Anyyyyyyway. Rants!
Sometime last year I subscribed to AP just to get the nifty My Chemical Romance cover [and so nifty it was] and now every month I get to remember exactly why I don't really venture into music fandom or stalking of most things music-y. My god, the bitchery.
For instance, why is it fine to have a zillion female fans, but you only seem to get credit or count as a real band/artist/whatever, if guys like your music? My money's fine, but the tits and the ovaries just push the boundaries too much?
Which then leads to the following problems. As a girl/woman/female type person, I'm pretty much given free reign to like whatever I like, which is great, but I will be ridiculed for it in a million little ways that have absolute nothing to do with whether the band sucks or not. Liking a really bad band means you will get snickered at, have your opinion thrown out the window, whatever. I fully understand this, though shittiness is in the eye of the beholder and all that.
A) If I don't look like all the other girls who also love said band, I'm obviously just a pretender to the throne and I obviously have no pupose liking whatever band/artist. Begone, outsider!
B) If I do look like all the other girls, I'm a try hard teenybopper sheep.
...And that leads me to the realization every month, or any time I venture into vague musical fandom type places, that everyone. Looks. The. Same. Seriously, it's like they have the same five bands [that's being generous] and they recycle the members for each new band/new look three pages down. It's all very weird.
Ah well. In other news, Widget's bookclub thing finally came. The freebies are naturally so cheap that two minutes after he opened the plastic bag and I was quick enough to snag a spongebob, I realized his paint was chipping. ...That's just lazy, people. I'm tempted to, whenever I actually have money again, buy the little man a little bookcase, because he likes to have a place to put things once he's thrown his temper tantrum.
