let the rain fall, I don't care

Could someone very politely explain why I'm going to see Superman this afternoon when I could think of a zillion other things [well, maybe just three] I'd rather do than spend however long the movie is wondering, "I wonder if Kate Bosworth will die from her head snapping her neck or someone will conk her upside her unnaturally large noggin, drag her to rehab, and feed the idiot?"

Oh yeah, because my attempt to politely decline was met with, "You really don't want to see it?" Not... particularly? "Why?" How do you put a total whogivesarightroyalfuckitlookslikecrapactually into words? Oh. Like that, I suppose. Only it doesn't necessarily look like crap. I just have no desire to see it. It's one of those movies that I can't even imagine being so bored as to watch on HBO on a very, very boring day. It lacks anything all that compelling for me to want to see it. I don't know why. I have nothing against good ol' Supes. I don't have a thing against anyone except Bobblehead. It just never would make it to the top of my list. Or the middle or even the bottom. *shrug* I'm not sure if I'm paying for this or if it's being counted as a gift. I'm not sure which would be worse. If I pay, then it's really rude she wouldn't let me back out. If it's a gift, well, um, unless I'm totally wrong and the movie is ohmygodsoawesome, then it'll be a waste of their money.

Yes, these are the things my brain overanalyzes.

I'm also wondering if she ever got the email I told her was on its way. I don't particularly want to ask her in person because if she hated all the dresses, then I don't want to put her on the spot. But if she just never got it, I'd like to know. Bah.

I need to go rustle up some food.

So.... did you like it? Some people went from work, but I passed. Haven't been to the movies in a couple years and I don't want to break that tradition on Superman. Some said it was great. Others said not so great.
