Idiots in the sandbox
Sep. 13th, 2007 08:28 amOKiechobie. Since the OP of the thread kindly requested the drama move elsewhere, I say I convene to my room. Or my journal, whatever. Post in question!
So. Zee gay dollies deserve no love? It's not like I sit there and think the dollies are getting it on when I'm not there, or even when I am, because they are, y'know, dolls... But because they don't line up boy/girl there's something creeptastic about it? I can understand the thought that a lot of people do throw two characters/dolls together because it's all super-cute-fun-everyone else is, but to just prance around assuming that logic applies to everyone is insane. You've got people who don't care about the unrealisticness of it all, given that they're dolls. It's fantasy, make believe, not real. On the other hand, you have the people who skew it so that it's a reflection of reality. That there should be variety in doll-world just as there is in the real-world isn't exactly a giant leap of logic, guys. It's why not all dolls are made to look exactly the same. It's half an article on the Bratz line anytime they're mentioned. So why is it that it's okay for the dolls to mingle with others who don't look like them, but the moment you think Barbie's got the hots for say, Midge [yeah, I'm dating myself, I know, and besides, Midge has a thing for Teresa] instead of Ken, all hell breaks loose?
Oh yeah. Because some people are fuckwits.
On a slightly related note, is it wrong that when I thought it was a Pullip/DAL paring I felt weird because DAL is like, 12, but when it was revealed that the Pullip in question was a hybrid [as in pretty boy, in this case] and as such could be seen as younger than Pullip normally is, it was okay-ish?
It could be.
Thought I'd spare the rest of you, seeing as I'm so kind and giving and loving and all that. :P
Anyway. I away! Because I can... and because I have one more episode of House to go.

Date: 2007-09-14 11:07 am (UTC)I figured the pullip/pullip was because the boys are so hit or miss to a lot of people, and then from there it was divided from those who were, as you said, all "lookit me, I'm open minded, oops, my brain fell out, tee hee" and their cousins the "so cuuuuuuuute!" though that might be the same thing in the end, aaaaaand those who didn't think one way or the other about it, the dolls were just together.
I would like to hope that Gwen and Tishy are together because they just are and not because my brain fell out, though if it did, would I know? *muse*
battle of the panda icons! [yes, I'm feeling weird today. ;) ]
