Time machine set to 80's

So the world has like nine billion sites on Harry Potter, but a girl can't find a decent non-review/blog for the good old BSC? How fair is that? Anyway, I thought I would wave around proof that either Scholastic is full of crap/, or it's the end of the world as we know it. While bored out of my skull, I took their little quiz, yes? Yes. And of allllllllllllll the options [all four], I ended up with Kristy. If you don't remember your BSC-lore, lemme just say that Kristy is the complete opposite of me for the last, I dunno, twenty-some odd years. I would've required massive amounts of anti-anxiety pills to have been around her, let alone be her. Even with my lowered tolerance for stupid people, I could never be a Kristy. Not even whiny movie Kristy. Ever. Sports, outgoing personality, and anchovies? Not me.
And for those who must, absolutely must know, I was Mary Anne until she got that nasty haircut that they NEVER let her outgrow despite it always looking like crap on the covers. Alllllllllllwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyysssss. But I had a thing for the blondes of the club and annoyed my cousins one summer debating the merits of Stacey versus Dawn.
Kristy. When hell freezes.

Date: 2007-10-20 04:38 pm (UTC)Stacey was always my favorite. Now that damn song from the TV show is in my head. "Babysitter's club! Cause you know that your friends are always there!" I wonder if I still have the dolls? I hope I didn't lose them.
Ha ha! I remember Mary Anne's dyke cut! I never cared for her much though. Or Dawn. I guess Claudia was cool, though. I liked the giant "adventure" tomes where they went to camp or got stuck on that island or something. It's where I learned heat escapes from your head. But I don't know if that's even true. Good times, good times.
OMG, did you vote in the poll?? I totally want them to talk about zits! Yes! And haven't they talked about all of that stuff at least thirty times by now?

Date: 2007-10-21 11:49 am (UTC)The Super Specials were fun, and I was a big fan of the mysteries until they pretty much all became lame. And they'd have the Super-Mysteries and I couldn't resist. :D I remember being scared by one of the ghost stories in one of the wintery supers, cuz I was lame like that.
Zits shall never touch the face of Stacey or Claud. I think numerous books tell us that about Claud and her junk food habit. Good, good times.

Date: 2007-10-21 08:25 pm (UTC)I think I liked Dawn. I've always gotten annoyed with supershy girls in books, even though sometimes I am. They just always come off as whiney to me, I guess.
And is it sad that sometimes I can't remember which parts of me going to camp actually happened and which parts came from BSC books?

Date: 2007-10-21 02:57 am (UTC)Aside from her and the really annoying bossy one, I don't really remember much about their attributes. Of course it has been about 15 years since I read the books.
And on the quiz, I got...WTF? Kristy. I don't think there's any other answer. I think they screwed up the quiz.

Date: 2007-10-21 11:52 am (UTC)I remember way too much about the BSC. I suspect my brain chucked American history and any sort of math beyond basic algebra and latched onto the BSC-like stuff as if it could possibly hold the secret for world peace somewhere within.
Either that, or the world is filled to the brim with Kristys.
*runs screaming from the thought*
