Spice, part three

And now, a moment of woohoo! On Friday I got my paycheck. Love picking up my paycheck in person and taking it to the bank because I'm a dork. Anyway, it was smaller than I anticipated, and that was even after I factored in the whole calling in sick thing fucking with my holiday pay so that I'd break normal, as opposed to super fantastic. Considering I felt like crap that week and the day after I called out sick, I felt better than I had in ages, I figured it was worth it.
Still, the check, she was small. So I killed time until big boss came in, asked him [this time without making an ass of myself] and waited. Last night, as I ran to punch in late and then ran to get to the register, I was called back and given an envelope. SCORE. When I looked inside on my break, I noticed an awful lot of paperwork... and then I realized it said sick day. And my normal hours, too. SCORE! :D I gots money, I gots money. *dances*

Goodbye. I associate with Christmas and George Michael's super camptastic video [after his bathroom arrest] because I think the latter premiered around the same time. Also worth noting, I think that was also with my collection of Rufus Wainright vids and the Disney orgy comment. Good times. The Christmas is because of the single and the b-side. Anyway. Pretty, but I never did like the frozen people.
Or them going on without Geri, really. It didn't work and while Goodbye was pretty... it wasn't the same. Whine.

Let Love Lead The Way. If MTV Stateside played any of this, I missed it. In fact, I remember Cass and I sitting down and watching the videos on my slow as hell computer, as I think they were included on either a single or maybe Forever or maybe we just found them. I don't know. But we watched and when it was over, we turned to stare at one another and then I think we asked, "What the fuck?"
Apparently there was a big thing with making each of the girls a representation of Earth/Air/Wind/Fire. But did we learn nothing from Captain Planet? Where's the Heart? *sobs*

I mean, you got Vickers as Fire, and this seems like a good idea, except I hate her haircut and she has never looked more wooden. Ever.

At the risk of being beaten severely, I will merely say that this was not Mel C's best look. And that gold tooth was just a bad idea.

Mel B, on the other hand, didn't look so bad. Thumbs up!

Baby, as our little wood nymph won the whole thing by looking fantastical throughout most, if not all of the video. I am utterly transfixed by the eyeshadow...

Holler also with the wtf, but at least this had leather. I prefer LLLtW [so many L's!] but Holler's a better video. But you can't catch them all together, so... onward.
Because there was a run on elemental themes for Forever...

Victoria's airy.

Emma's watery. I think. Dig the ponytail of blueish tint?

Mel B's fire.

But Mel C, for all her frolicking on the grass, also seems be trying to pull double duty as the mind or some such nonsense.
What makes Holler superior, aside from Vic and Mel C not scaring me so much, is the scene where the girls are conjuring their eyecandy and the looks on their faces when something does not appeal...

...no!

...uh, nuh uh.

Pathetic is what that is, no?

Erm, no. No, no, no, no...no.
My headache and I are off to visit the land of Excedrin and finish this book. Thus far I've been keeping up with my book list on goodreads, which probably vexes heidi if they send her an update each time I so much as sneeze there. Not sure about that. *muse*
Also, I wish I could stop randomly buying lip balm, lip gloss, and the occasional lipstick. If given a makeup choice, I always go for a lip thing, despite the fact that on any given day, my work vest has two lip glosses at all times. But they're so... shiny. Oh, and my brother brought me a brownie from work last night. :D For all I know it's got nuts all over it, but I'm hoping it doesn't, and besides, he never brings me anything. But a brownie! Going now.
