That's what you bring to me?
Apr. 22nd, 2008 12:24 am... Tonight, Gossip Girl returns. There aren't enough words in the language to describe how happy this makes me. I'm also aware I'm not the only one.
^ That was from hours ago. I just never got around to finishing because Widget returned home. So. I've seen the new GG and...
Where did I get the idea tonight was the night they'd out whichever guy they've been hinting about in the press? Seriously, I watched the entire episode wondering when! who! and I got nothing.
What I did get, however, was a less than stellar episode because I now officially loathe TV!Jenny. Granted, I think I loathed book!Jenny at the same time in her confused little existence, so, um, yay for consistency, Jenny. Boo for making me loathe you. Then again, 13 episodes or so of that stupid, "Who says this family isn't cool?" comment wedged in most of the 'previously on...' montages will also do it. *smacks with frying pan* LOATHE. DIE.
Even the Widget knew she was going to steal a dress and get in trouble for it. Hell, he was blathering on about "she's gonna take a dress... or some shoes... and she's gonna trade it in and get..." I think he was angling for candy, but then he realized she was gonna get in trouble and he ceased with the predictions.
Anyway, I could have done without the excess of Jenny. I should have known it was coming, because they've been setting it from day one, but still. I also find it irksome that they got rid of Kati [sure, sure, the actress wanted to leave, but still, since thus far she'd said like maybe four words, RECAST] who is supposed to be glued to Is at all times, and replaced her with Penelope and Hazel and that other one... and the two with names still speak more than Is? That's gotta suck.
Also, Jenny? If you can't own up to not being loaded [which, honestly, they should've already known] and you go out of your way to hide it, including stealing? Yeah, honey, that's being ashamed of where you come from... and being a dumbass. For your stupidity, above and beyond the call of normal teenage hijinks, I wish an anvil would fall on your strangely curled, headbanded head. Cuz Rufus=yum! Don't cross him, especially when he's trying to make you happy. Asking Nate for $8,000? Stupid. Stupid. It's not for your foiling Blair [not completely] it's for how annoying you are that I banish you.
I love Blair, but watching Jenny and the lesser bitches get the best of her? Frustrating. Frustration is not good when you've been waiting months for new stuff. In fact, that shit is what makes me throttle someone.
Sad to say, but my favorite bit of this episode wasn't Blair. It was Chuck and how everyone thought the worst of him [except Eric!] and for once in his strange, twisted, messed up existence, he was innocent. I loved how Lilly stuck up for him and how upset he was about being shipped back to his suite.
But mostly, I think I could love Georgina. Which is a shock, cuz I twitch thinking about her in the books. Yay, MT!
Overall, the episode is filler. Seriously better than nothing, but next week should be the real thing. I forgive you this one, GG, simply because I'm an addict.
