Okay, when I finally made it home from work, the cat was drooling excessively. She'd shake her head and shower everything. Very gross. So Mumsy calls the vet and asks when they can see us/if we should be running around like chickens without their heads. That sort of thing. Two minutes after the appointment is made, the cat stops her drool-fest. We take her to the vet and she sings and slinks around, as the cat hates car rides and the vet. As in the office, nothing personal against the vet we saw today. They can't figure out anything, so they think maybe she licked a lizard or tasted something bitter and this is just the normal feline way of saying, "disgusting!"

Then they began their parade of "now that we finally have you here, please let us part you from your money" options. Do you want to get your cat's blood work done just in case? Do you want to switch flea meds? Do you want to bang your head into a wall?

So... I did. I got the blood work [results in the morning, so continued warm fuzzies would be appreciated] and picked up one application of Revolution, which I'll give her Saturday. Anyone know anything about it?

Of course, the second I start to email Dad about the sucking wound that is my bank account/vet visit, she starts to drool again. I... don't know what the hell. I'm hoping she just got a taste of whatever they put on the back of her neck and that she's fine... but I worry.

On the plus side, she's up to date on all of her vaccinations and whatnot, so that makes me very happy. I'd been feeling very bad that she'd fallen behind.

Hey, sounds like my cats. I get all worked up about something, take them in for an $80 visit only to be told either they don't know what it is or they stop doing it at the vet and it's probably nothing. I was ready to take my cat in for her tongue sticking out, but I looked it up online and finally realized she was just content. -_-

I think I've had the cats drool excessively before and it is just a repsonse to something fleeting. What other symptoms does your cat have that made you worried?

Hehehe, my grandmother's cat used to stick his tongue out and I'd worry for a second and then my father would walk by, the cat would hiss, and I realized he was fine.

Earlier in the year she started her yearly drop the winter pudge, but she's skinnier than she's been in quite awhile. I suspect most of it is stress from the nephew moving in and the dog chasing her, but still I worry. She was ripping her fur out for awhile [again, stress or the fleas the dog would oh so thoughtfully share are most likely suspects] but the vet saw her and said that was probably due to her fleas. So I feel better about that.

Now I have to go smack the dog for getting her. :p
