I promised pictures, yes? Yes, yes I did. So I will combine them and you can pick doll goodness or book goodness, or if neither interests you [shock! amazement!] you only have to worry about skipping one post and not two. Or twelve.

Angry is a bit of an unusual one. She looks older than the other Dals, and I don't know if it's the faceup or it's just been a little while since I got one and my focus shifted in the mean time so she's a bit of a shock. But I think it's the faceup. She's gorgeous. :D

Her outfit is pretty fantastical and I'm leaving her in her plastic wrap underneath until I know I won't just get distracted and leave her in it too long. [Much like some of the others are still wrapped to keep 'em slightly safer than they'd be otherwise.]

If you loathe Dals for their squidgy faces, this is not the picture for you. ;)

Her socks which are awesome.

Shtuff? Shtuff! Ears!

Tez helps us out and shows off the second hood with ears. Ears! Less ornate and also an actual hoodie. The zipper is a bitch to use though.

Is blurry but I share anyway.

Ears! Times two!

Tez was/is adorable in her stolen hoodie and I got distracted for a little while.

And a little something different from the others.

Her hair is in really cute ringlets and the color is a bit strange, but awesome. Thing is, she smells. Not horrible, but if scents bother you, you're either going to need to air her out or skip 'er. Or, I guess, leave her boxed. But she's prettier once she's freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Tez: *sniffs* What's that smell?

Angry: I don't know what you're talking about. *tries to block pie*
Tez: No fair! Share! Gimme!

The apple pie rement cuteness I got back with Pink-chan, I think. Because Shana is awesome, yes.

Little cute things! And because I so rarely indugle myself, I can obsess that much more over the stuff I do end up with. Right?

I am in love with the spatula. That's just wrong, but it's true.

Now I want pie. And in case you wondered, originally Tez was going to cut the pie, give this slice to Angry and keep the rest of the pie for herself.
Books:
For all the love I have for books, I'm the sort who leaves them in stacks until I either knock them over, the cat does, or I'm finally struck by how awful it is to have your bookcase looking like someone mauled it. I meant to take a picture of the bookcases before I touched them, but I spent so long trying to get the damn light to stay on [the switches in the house are EVIL] that by the time I had light [I can see!] I just plunged into the books and didn't remember until I'd sorted through the Sweet Valley stuff and started on the misc shelf. So you missed the complete feel of anarchy. I'm sorry. The SV shelf tends to be the most easily disturbed due to the side project and the fact that I keep trying to find out which ones I need in which form [...shut up!] so.. yes. I'm sorry you missed that one.

Big Black is mine. I really need another shelf to smoosh in between since BB was set up wrong and I can't use the bottom two shelves for much.

The bottom shelf is where the cat goes to pee when she's ticked off at me. I haven't the insanity to take the cleaning stuff out and fix it yet. She also did the same thing to the second shelf, but that one I cleaned for the most part and then shoved junk in to keep her out. I did not touch these two shelves except to occasionally put something else on 'em while I moved things around. So, ignore them later on, kay?

I needed the space when sorting. This is the area I plan on installing Fourth Bookcase when I move everyone else down the next time I do a full scale clean.

The next two bookcases are a bit of an oddity. The books on the bottom of the middle case aren't mine. They're mumsy's. Also, the bookcases are hers. I gather she also made them back in the day. However, when we moved, many eons ago, we left a house where the TV room had three bookcases and a built in one [where Buddha lived], every bedroom except my grandfather's had at least one bookcase, though most had two, and oh yeah, there was also the library. So our books, even after most of my grandfather's were auctioned off, still roam around looking for homes. Anyway, the boy and I sort of shared custody of stuff on the middle bookcase. Which you can see is also covered in crap. That orange can has been there for years.

Seriously, I found an old beer bottle that I remember leaving there [it was the boy's] because it still had beer in it YEARS ago... and I still was a little worried about the contents when I chucked it. The wax thing is from when Cass lived here which was like seven years ago. Yeah. Thing is, it's really easy to ignore all this crap because the light upstairs doesn't work most of the time, thus you don't see anything. Ever.

This was the bookcase I was most worried about cleaning up. I had space for about ten seconds and then I went after the next two. Btw, thanks, Al, for the books you've added to the collection. It's just that they didn't get photographed except for me to add to my LibraryThing or GoodReads pile... and that's a different memory card. D'oh! Book love for all!
The top two shelves are Sweet Valley. They will always be Sweet Valley until I move the SV books to their very own bookcase or clean the bottom shelves and designate this one all SV all the time. The middle shelf is my yay other books shelf. It's mostly the newer stuff that has made it out of my room and to relative safety. You've got your LKH stuff, most of which is gifted from Cass. You've got your Kim Harrison [I realized when photographing stuff for the LT/GR shelves that I have most of her books and I felt all giddy about that], your Jim Butcher, your manga, your Private novels, my Gossip Girl crack from T.S. as well as a good solid chunk of the A List, also from T.S., and assorted other goodies. Currently part of my American Girl books are there, but half the reason for me cleaning up this shelf was to see if the cooking studio books would fit. They don't. I'd have to take out other stuff to fit them in.

BB didn't take all that long, although it will be redone in a couple of months because I don't really like the way it's set up, size wise. Thing is, I thought it would take longer, so with all the extra time I had, I went on to the next two shelves and threw crap out. I didn't touch the top of BB because it's safer that way, but I did some serious rearranging for the other two. I moved the BSC around, I marveled at the RL Stine love. Seriously, who didn't love the Fear Street Cheerleader drama? I've got two sets of that and that's not even counting the ones I had to replace! Actually, I suspect that second set might be Cass's, although maybe it's the set I had to replace. Crap if I know. She's only getting her SVU #8 and any book with her name in it that she did not gift to me. It's been the better part of a decade. If it wasn't lent to me, you left it here and it's mine now. *cough* Anyway, that got me thinking about the way that Fear Street never did manage to live up to what I expected/wanted it to be... but mostly Cheerleader love. Thing is, the Stine books are everywhere. You'll note the gaping hole for the Christopher Pike books. Note to self, email Ari again.
Oh, and the bottom of the bookcase closest to my room? Yeah, that's the section of 80's love [Sleepover Friends!] that the cats peed on and I refuse to get rid of even though it's a wall of books where only the first six or so SOF books aren't ruined. But I did write down the ones that were ruined so I can replace them and not think, "wait, I own these." Yeah, you do, but they're dead to you.
And then I realized I still had a ton left in my room. The birthday pile from last year, the BSC books I'd rescued from the garage, the books I pick up at random because they're awesome... the SVH books I've left around for whatever reason. This is the never ending quest, I guess.
