I believe that facebook is evil. Not as skanky-evil as myspace, but evil all the same. Where else does one of your brother's ex-girlfriends try and friend you despite the fact that she's several kinds of crazy? Like the bad crazy? And this does not include the fact that you also have your brother's ex (who happens to be his baby-mama since I'm trying to get all the southernfried crazy out at once) as a friend, but that's entirely different because kooky as she might be, she's still widget's mother.

I... and... *flails* Still, I was content to basically ignore her for the time being except she's decided to send me a message. How do I politely say that while she was sort of fun to talk to, I dunno, a decade ago, every time she's reappered in his life (and therefor mine) in the years since, bad things have happened? Because at the same time, she's also always been a fantastic way of getting rid of whatever girl is currently in his life which is really tempting because, yet again, he's screwing around with someone who doesn't seem to think that him having a kid that lives with him but never sees him is a problem.

NYARGH.

I am not meant to be a sociable person. Case in point, jury duty day 2 (or three, depending on how you look at it): everyone else was chatting with someone but me? I was ignored in a group of like, a zillion. Or forty. And for the most part I was fine with this. I did want to ask the guy with the Laura Childs book if he found it as ridiculous as I did that the main character runs in the pre-dawn hours around the Battery without getting mugged, ever, but he was in a deep discussion with someone about religion and it seemed rude to interrupt.

Anyway, I'm cold and trying to talk myself out of the ebay goodness since I'm still on archival-watch for Molly or Felicity in the land of AG. Which reminds me. Felicity's table and chairs came yesterday. Huge box. Huge box looked like someone had kicked the sides in. But the furniture itself was fine and in fantastic condition. Dad was once again more interested than anyone else (his grandmother had a table identical to it) and I get a kick out of him liking the furniture as much as I do. It's random and awesome. The fact that I shaved more than thirty bucks off the pricetag (not including what shipping does to it on non-free shipping times) and got the version I loved as a kid? (They've since re-designed it.) Yeah. Bonus. :D

I am now going to go re-read the Molly books so I know which outfits I want and which I can live without should it comes to that.

Also, my hands are cold and the cat stole my blanket.

For my small list of attributes that will signify that I have found the one (or at least a friend for life): They will understand that when I go to the library and have them go with me, what I'm really asking is that they look for stuff I/we would like and then offer to carry more than half the load because I will, invariably, pick up more than I can actually carry without hurting myself.

double damn you, [livejournal.com profile] zallia, can't. tear. eyes. away. from. sailormoon. things. I'd semi-forgotten how I loved me some Sailormoon goodness.

I'm sorry! It's terrible, isn't it? Why didn't they just stop after the 10 million irwin dolls i had to buy? Y'know, they never did make more ChibiChibi stuff, though. So under-represented in merchandise.

What sort of stuff are you seeking out? I'd send you the link to where I bought the gashapon sets, but there's a loooot of tempting stuff from other anime and video games. ;_; Who are your fave characters?

Poor ChibiChibi! She's all cute and tiny and adorable, what couldn't they market about her?

I don't think I'm searching for anything in particular. I'm just looking at things and adoring the cute. I was always a Venus/Sailor V fan, with Pluto being a close second. (Yes. When Pluto the planet was demoted, all I could think was they picked the wrong girl to mess with. Dork powers, activate!) And years of buying Jupiter/Mars stuff for friends meant that while I love the Outers in general, I usually blew all my money on V/M/J first.

Facebook is *soooo* evil! Mine is composed of family members and vague aquantinces from high school, with a few *real* friends thrown in for good measure.

I am totally the "ooh you might like this book" type bookstore friend. :-) And I always assist with half the lifting (even the heavier half sometimes, since I'm a gigantic man).

BTW, why aren't we friends on Facebook? I agree it's evil but if we're both afflicting ourselves with it, we should at least find each other and weather the storm together. *off to stalk you out on the friend search*

For awhile mine seemed to be a couple of work people (one of them being a really, really random add at that), a couple of current friends, and then people from high school or earlier. Frankly I'm surprised half of those people remember me.

Ok I just requested to add someone and I hope to god it was you. LOL! The main picture was trees and the person was a fan of only three things: Private (the YA books), Same-sex marriage and Tori Amos. I figured that MUST be you. LOL! Also there was gushing about the Winchester brothers. Amen!

When you put it that way, I sound... pretty damn awesome. :P *checks FB* Is me! Annnnnd I don't know why we weren't friends there before. The fates had yet to align properly? Yes. Yes, that's it.

And... we must go bookstore whoring together one day. I'll have to win the lottery or something beforehand, or have a long list for the library afterward, but it shall be awesome. Yes.

See, revealing that you have a Facebook results in people adding you. You do realize that, right?

I promise not to send you invites to all the stupid little Facebook games I've been sucked into...unless you want them. :p
