PLL Picture Day
Jun. 21st, 2010 06:55 amIt's Monday, so that means it's time for the PLL Holly round-up.
These are from episode 1x05 Reality Bites Me.

Yes. I included the picture of Holly's back. That's my dedication, you guys.

Some have speculated that this is the episode Ella finds out Byron's cheated on her.

I hope that it's not because I'd like a little more Ella/Byron before they blow them to smithereens. Again, it's a pacing thing for me. I understand when the books went fast because they didn't have as much time. The TV show has an entire season (be it a 10/12/24 episode season) to tell a story. Room to breathe, guys. Quit acting like it's a sprint.
Now I'm off to ponder my birthday gift to meeeeeeee. And make a PLL icon or twelve.

Date: 2010-06-21 07:25 pm (UTC)It would take us up to Hanna figuring out who A is and then A trying to take her out. Y'know, assuming they don't alter that bit too much.
And I hadn't heard that the first season was books 1-3. I should pay more attention to these things.

Date: 2010-06-21 09:39 pm (UTC)I haven't picked up the Sookie books. Are they worth it? I've heard different things, but I also haven't really watched any True Blood because I always manage to hit sometime when Bill is saying "Sookie" and I die laughing. I laugh until it hurts and then I get told to turn the damn channel. :P And I've still got the entire season of Vampire Diaries that I've yet to watch. Recorded, yes. Watched, no.

Date: 2010-06-22 02:01 am (UTC)I read the first four, but after the first two I started getting bored and uninterested. I haven't read LKH, but judging from your posts, they're kind of a similar situation? Like starting out with this good heroine and then devolving to more and more sex and sex partners in each book, which it's not like that bothers me a whole lot, but in the first book it was such a big deal that Sookie was a virgin and had all these good morals and values and then pft! Out the window as soon as hot supes show up and start hitting on her, which they all do of course.
But THEN! The TV show was like, hai we're on skanky channels, let's turn that up to 2 million! I haven't seen it yet, but from what I gather the second season is pretty much a constant orgy and her brother plays a lot bigger role just so you can see him hump everything. Bill having a "daughter" wasn't in any of the books I read, nor was well, most of those other plots actually. This third season sounds a bit more familiar, but, yeah...
And I totally agree, I'm not even southern and their terrible accents drive me nuts. SUUUUUCKIIIEEE!!
I apparently got said coworker into Vamp Diaries and then didn't even watch it myself. Oops! I'm trying to recify that now, but it's like all these other new shows, I can't tell any of the damn people apart!

Date: 2010-06-22 12:58 pm (UTC)I get seriously confused for the first few episodes of most shows when they decide they're going to make everyone look/act alike. I want a show that babies you for the first couple of episodes and all but has signs that pop up and say "This is __" and "This is ___'s sister, ____"
LKH depends on the series. Anita started out with some serious sex issues, as in she didn't have any sex at all, but it worked for who she was. Uptight, control freak who didn't let go of things because she had this need to prove herself, and also her necromancy had a way of bringing things to life if she wasn't always on top of it.
As a character, pre!sex Anita is someone you would want coming after you if the monsters were attacking because she'd rip worlds apart to save your ass, even if she ended up kicking it after it was all said and done. I just found her to be an incredible bitch. But I loved the world and the monsters (child vampires will never not be creepy! at least not the ones who are unable to age.) and I could tell myself Anita wasn't meant to be super likeable at all times.
Then she started screwing the monsters, which was fine. It's when she became a monster and it wasn't intentional and LKH seems to believe she's still working with a heroine... Frustrating.
Heh. The only episode I've seen of TB was basically Sookie walking through an orgy trying not to get sucked into it because Bill wasn't around. Southern accents should just not be attempted, I'm thinking.
