Please excuse Lissie's "I have a muffin on my head!" mobcap.
The AG dolls are mostly dressed for autumn/fall, although soon I'll be swapping them out for Halloween costumes. I think Ruthie looks adorkable in Molly's sweater/skirt combo and Draculaura's just sitting there, chilling. The Clawdeens are ignoring one another and the Frankies manage to look nearly identical and still very different depending on how closely I look at them. Weird. Poor Sunshine is just thinking, "Dude, wrong grou photo." Cleo's standing odd because she had been having a bit of a face-off with Clawdeen:

Yeah. But what can you do? Cleo commands you to ignore the weird velcro issues she has and also how short her dress is on her. Clawdeen (DotD) will have you know she wore it and there wasn't an indecency issue, but Cleo says this is blasphemy so... there you have it.
Cass sent me Draculaura (I'd asked for either Lagoona or Ulla D as a double) and now I have one I can de-pigtail without worrying about getting her hair back the way it's "supposed" to be. This got me thinking. If it weren't for these dolls being so ridiculously hard to find at times (all times), would I want a second set? I've been saying I would, and I wouldn't turn them down as gifts, but would I shell out full price for a second set? *muses* Of course, I don't have the C/D set as of yet so they would come first. I think I want a second Lagoona because I luff her so, and if hell freezes and I ever find Ghoulia, I'll probably want two of her although she doesn't seem quite... Ghoulia enough.* But Frankie and DotD Frankie are both really similar as it is. That said, W1 Frankie is beautiful. Clawdeen is fangtastic but for fuck's sake, she took longer than everyone else *combined* (including DotD dolls!) to be found.
Musing is dangerous.
Ghoulia: For me, the doll looks a bit too... harsh, maybe? Ghoulia in webisodes seems so sweet but the doll is the anti-sweet. Of course, I wasn't really sold on Draculaura at first and now... well. We luff.
But I seriously tire of chasing these things down. It's annoying and unnecessary. Given how well received they seem to be (and I'm not just talking about the older collectors, I mean I have to bite my tongue when the tweeny girls are all, "OOOH! They're all vampires in high school!" at the empty Target display. And then they huff off because there's nothing to buy.) you'd think they'd release, "We have a hit! Fuck, if they have no merch to buy, we make no money!" and then, you know, they fix this.
But Impy, haven't you anything else to discuss? I tire of your MH talk!
Um, my hand hurts. That's fascinating, right? No? Well then. My vacation starts in a little more than a week. That's good too, right? And for all those who realize I'm taking my vacation right before Halloween, you can have some candy of your choice. :D
Trying to decide. Do I dye my hair red during said vacation, or do I bleach the tips (it's getting long enough that I should cut it anyway) and then dye them (a) fun color(s)? Hmm.

Date: 2010-10-15 05:35 pm (UTC)I'm so glad you said that about Ghoulia! That's exactly what I was thinking, she looks really like angry or meangirl or smirky or something. Totally not the sweetness that I see in the webisodes. But everyone else was so gaga over her that I didn't want to be the lone dissenter. Still not sure about Holt either, for some reason I just really hate his skin color.
You know I'm always up for fun-colored hair. :D Pics!
For some reason I love your American Girls, but just can't get into them for myself. Gah, I still need to order that brace kit and glasses as well.

Date: 2010-10-15 05:42 pm (UTC)It's a good thing my Target isn't as well stocked as yours. *shifty-eyes* I'd totally break down and buy. Which, I suppose, would then prompt Ghoulia into appearing, wouldn't it? Having no money except the emergency dolly fund I don't like to dip into? Yes. It would.
Ghoulia the doll looks meaner than Cleo and Clawdeen and there is something so very wrong about that. But I'd feel weird saying it elsewhere because everyone else is dying of the Ghoulia love and it would feel rude to say it on someone's picture laden post. I do love the blue hair, though, and Sir Hoots Alot means Mums will keep an eye out for her. (Mums loves owls.)
I like Holt as a character, I think, particularly his diary, but there's something wonky with the doll for me. I don't know if it's his blue skin or something else. Mostly I just chalk it up to my being "meh" about boy dolls.
If/when I do something with the hair, pics shall appear. Even if all you see is hair and not much of me. Muhahaha!

Date: 2010-10-15 05:51 pm (UTC)Yeah, her eyebrows are just really wonky! I don't know why there's such the disconnect since she never ever looks like that in the cartoons and all you have to do is watch 30 secs of it. Hey do you know if that special is going to be animated or live action?
Not too sure what it is about Holt either. I think the design just strikes me as not very well fleshed out. Like there's so many conflicting ideas going on with him and they just kind of threw everything there and nothing really jives together. He's just...hinky.
Heh, I was just thinking that despite dreaming about you, I don't think I've ever actually seen you.

Date: 2010-10-15 06:03 pm (UTC)My money's on animated for the special because I could have sworn we were supposed to get one more with... one of the Idol people doing the songs for it. (I don't keep up with AI so I kind of let the info go in one ear and out the other.) I thought they were doing the live action for the movie/possible movie later?
Holt had everything but the kitchen sink thrown in on him. I don't care for blue/orange together, either so there's that.
Poor Ghouls. I get that the dolls are a different... style than the animation, but your sweet, shy character should not look like she could take down the bitchy ones. Wonder if plush Ghouls would be closer to cuteness or if the "button" eyes would make it wonktastic.
I hide from cameras. My paleness, it washes the shots out! Yeah, that's it. Yeah. I think the last time I volunteered a photo of me was when I had red hair. Which was... three/four years ago? Maybe more.
