impyOf all the days to not be clad in my bitch wear...
I got to go to the library with Mom. Nearly died on the way because the sun was in our eyes and.. ick. Picked the lane that died so merging was a bitch and a half. Plus she was stressed because we'd be late in picking Dad up from work, but we made it there alive. I grabbed some cheese to read as well as some Alice Hoffman books. Fun stuff.
Mom gets me as I'm trying to find some David Sedaris-y goodness [curses!] and we get in line behind these two military guys who are apparently opening accounts. We look to the other librarian and she's helping some woman and about 7 hundred kids open accounts. Goodie. We wait 15 minutes, trying not to get too pissed even though we're now beyond late and a third station opens up. The guy behind us, who'd been waiting like 3 minutes, ran over. Fink. Then the other people behind us got helped by various other librarians as Alyce, our librarian was... doing god knows what. First she walked the guys through how the account works, and then they asked a question, and then she repeated the walk through, and then she turned to us again, said "one minute" and then proceeded to try and hunt down the next guy in line for the internet. She then got huffy because he wasn't answering and about that time my mother blew sky high. I'd ever so thoughtfully opened the books so she could scan and stuff the card in 'em and then Alyce proceeds to complain about this. She then drops all my books on the floor and leaves half of them there. o_O Mom storms out with less than half the books, leaving Alyce to give me this look like "your mother is crazy" and I'm thinking, "Woman, you are so lucky I believe in peace..." She then 'finishes' and I have to remind her of the books on the floor.
Fuuuuuun. In that way that's soooo not.
This, btw, is why I want a "Fuck You" shirt. Let the parents explain that fun word to their kids. Or better yet, let HBO do that. :p
In happier news, I got the Prizoner of Azkaban trailer on tape. Wheee for E! and their coming attractions show.
Now I'm off to read some cheese. Who knew The Cheetah Girls was considered young adult? [yeah. mock. but I had to know how much the movie changed 'em. mock. I can take it.]
oh, and my holly birthday banner? i love it. yes, yes I do.
