Books and Betty

I am apparently losing my mind. Which isn't all that surprising given the state of me, but still. The other day I saw a co-worker was looking for Looking For Alaska and I thought "hey, I should lend her that." Then she asked and I did a quick peek right before running off to work and couldn't find it. I didn't stress because I was positive it was in the larger section of my big black bookcase.
When I woke up this morning to the sounds of Widget shrieking, I decided to look for the book. I sat down and flipped through the books, taking out most of the books in the front row (mine are two deep on most of the bookcases) and... nothing. Not a single John Green book in sight and I know for a damn fact I own at least one of his books and I was 98% sure it was Alaska. Still, maybe when I last re-did my books I moved it to the cubes. I peeked. Nothing. One of the bags of books that never made it to the bookcase? Nothing. The only sections I didn't tear apart were the BSC and SV sections and that's because I know full well they don't let others in their clique. They may mingle on other shelves, but outsiders are not welcome on theirs.
Thing is, I'm not 100% sure I own the book, but I'm pretty sure I do because when I read it, I remember thinking, "Man, why didn't I buy this sooner?" Which would imply that duh, I'd bought it. So where the frick is it?
The other thing, and this is actually worrying me more than disappointing someone with my lack of book lending abilities, is that normally when I go through my bookcase on missions such as this, I come across a bunch of books I bought for cheap and haven't read but oooh, look interesting. Yeah, um, that didn't happen this time. :( I think I stumbled across one that I'll probably peek at and bring to work tomorrow since I believe the floors are being done then but still, normally I'm giddy over the books and this time not much.
WOE.
I'm off to watch another episode of Bomb Girls which I totally recommend. First season is on Netflix, the second season just started airing on Reelz (or whatever that channel is actually called) and can be found online if one knows where to look. I may or may not love Betty more than is strictly necessary.
ETA: I'm torn between hair decisions. Now that I'm not seeing my roots and screaming "aaagh, too dark!" or "aaaah, too bright!" it's obviously time to move forward with one of my plans. But which one? The original plan was to go lighter (done!) so that when I went red it wouldn't be too dark. The downside is that this plan last turned out orange. But that was an entirely different kind of dye and also, like four years ago. It is also, btw, what made me downgrade my dying of my hair to twice a year MAX. Orange. Like a carrot. Ugh.
The other option is the one that I've been kicking around for awhile since I saw the aqua dye. I really, really loved my pink/purple hair for as long as the combo lasted and was pretty happy with the pink tips. I'm considering doing that again only this time in aqua. My hair is just long enough that if things go horribly awry the ends can be chopped off and no harm, no foul. But the downside is that my pillows will all turn blue or green. Thoughts? Opinions?
