I hate nightmares. I know, few people do enjoy them but... still. There you are, enjoying your little dream world, and then the sky starts to darken and you have to run and find shelter because tornado! (I might be super duper afraid of them.) And because it's a dream things are going both better than they should be (of course the cat will run right into the cat carrier!) and worse (why are we at the house I grew up in? But it has a basement so who cares!) and then you start trying to implement Earth logic on a decidedly dreamlike plane and things just go arse over teakettle which makes things worse.
I awake and decide frick that noise, I'm getting up because the thought of resuming that little slice of no was just not appealing. I'm thinking it's maybe 3 or 4 AM. Nope, it's barely turned 1am. I've been asleep for maybe four hours. o_O
Since I've already gone on about the dreams, might as well circle back to the other two from earlier in the week.
I dreamt about the ex, for one. Nothing big or exciting. He was visiting for reasons that are never explained or thought about, and we're snoozing together (um, no idea why since dream visit is strictly platonic to the point that it gets thought about in the dream) and then we're watching TV together, though I'm sitting on the left when I usually sit to the right of people (dunno why, it's a thing) and dream!me is content to just go about things because it's nice not wanting to throw him out the window and laugh while the glass does terrible things to his skin, but regular me is trying to figure out Why Is He Here?
And then I wake up when I realize he's not snoring and this cannot be the ex because he snored only slightly less than Cass. It was a nice dream though.
The next night was weirder because it involved more dream logic than can be explained, but basically seemed to involve working/living at a camp type thing and planning a prank on the obnoxious people two doors down from me. Plotting with the guy who lived to the left of me, who was brothers with the guy to the right of me who, of course, I had a dream crush on. Left and I are maybe two days out from putting the plan into motion and I guess Right has no idea it's going on because the day before the prank to end all pranks is ready to commence, Left runs in with a note from Right who has decided to leave, due in part to some rumour that we were cooking up something against *him*.
I do not recall being so heartbroken in a dream where someone didn't die. :(
Luckily, fluffy cats feel that people are perfect trampolines so I woke up before I could be too sad... mostly.
Let's see, what else is going on? *muse* Thursday morning (I think?), Mom was in a bit of an accident on her way to get me. The kicker is that all the times she's been late, before I cycle to "GRRR, WANNA GO HOME NOW" rage, I always tick by "Ohnoes!" and this time, before she was even late, I get a text from her saying she took the turn off the connector wrong and was now hosed. Turns out it was, as near as we can tell and knock on wood and all that, just taking the curb and killing the new tire (sonofabitch!) but still, it was scary for her because um, when you take that turn wrong, you are confronted with the crosses of all the people who did exactly that and didn't make it out okay.
The boy was a complete and raging asshole about it. Incident occurred a little after 6am, he got a call before I did, and then I called him once I talked to Mom, so he had 3 hours to make alternate plans to get to work and he didn't. He went back to sleep and blamed her for his not making it to work. Off the top of my head I can think of 5 people who could, in theory, get him to work, or, since he got paid the day before, he could've called a damn cab. OR asked, ever so politely, if I could get Ari back to take him to work which she might have done if I'd asked. He also yelled at me for waking him up and for her being in an accident, then he yelled at her while she's waiting for the tow truck and yeah. He was such a douchebag that I'm really surprised she hasn't kicked him out yet. Maybe she's waiting for him to get paid again and then point to the door. I can hope. I really, really can.
This was, btw, after he'd given me a chunk of the money he owed me, though I'm sure he thinks he's paying for the current crop of bills and not the past ones I had to pay to keep the lights and water on, which is to say nothing of the cable he watches that I never do.
Sooooooo... yes. My brother is an asshole. This is, sadly, not news. If not for the fact that his sorta, kinda, not really girlfriend type person was in a nearly fatal accident a few weeks ago, I suspect Mom would have actually thrown him out for his lack of concern for her safety. I'm more than willing to use it as a reason he should have been even more concerned and thus should be chucked out faster.
So as not to leave this on a bad note, I finally got around to seeing the Hauntlywood promos and I think Elisabat is cuter than expected, Viperine's head looks really tiny, Honey looks exactly the same in every single picture (to be fair it might just be the only picture of her), and Clawdia looks like she would like to speak to you about our Lord and Savior.
Now to decide whether I'm making the Widget an Advent Calender this year or just buying him one. On the one hand, I think he kinda likes it when I make them. On the other hand, it is infinitely cheaper to just buy the damn $40 LEGO one and be done with it. Also, last year he'd go a week without opening any of the day's stuff so... but on the flipside, it would help decorate, too. Anyone seen any make your owns or buy them on Etsy that are really cute?
OH, and this is Important: It is officially time for you to start hinting about what you want for the holidays. Big, small, or somewhere in between, it doesn't matter. Dream big! Think outside of the box, or be very specific. I don't do well with "I dunno, something" and nothing more than that. If you do that, I will buy you socks. If you would, in fact, like socks, just let me know what kind. I've bought socks both as a revenge gift and a "someone honestly wanted them" gift. I have ideas for some of you and some, well, not so much, or at least ones that wouldn't be so easy to do since we don't live closer. So please, start your holiday hinting NOW. It gives me time to take advantage of sales or order online or have time to write or make you something if that's your thing. I work retail which means that in about a week the Christmas music is going to start and a week after that I'm going to want to murder everyone so... this is your go time while I'm still happy and hopeful. ;)
