Today was good
Nov. 18th, 2013 05:23 pmBecause I love you all so, we're gonna do a combo here. First we'll discuss my day, then we'll travel on down to gif-town because later it'll be more doll blathering. :P
My original plan was nearly sunk because the boy normally works Monday afternoon/evenings but today he was scheduled for early morning. Luckily, Mums needed to go to Widget's school to drop off his meds so...
The day was saved! I began my journey with a McRib from McDonalds because um, they're delicious. So good. SO GOOD. Really. So good. I'm kind of considering not getting another this season because it will likely not be that good.

Then we went to the library where I wandered in, gave Mom her keys (I'd been in the car finishing off my breakfast of champions) and hit the YA section. 45 seconds later, I had run out of room in my arms. Since I'm taking longer to read things these days, I figured that was my cue to stop.
*points* I could have gone on for much longer but I decided to pace myself. I hope most of those are good.
Then I hit the post office where I sent
irishgypsie the books I've owed her for the past three months. On the plus side, it was cheaper than I thought and there was basically no line to speak of. Down side, I got the same employee I always get. But she didn't seem as grumpy today so again, good stuff.
Stopped at Bath and Bodyworks to see if they had a specific scent for Mom. Nope, Online only. Found out they were having their Buy 3/Get 3 free so when I got home I wound up using the Buy 2/Get 1, plus free shipping and $10 off. (I threw in some seasonal stuff, too, to see if I liked it since the store didn't carry those either.) Since I was there, I ran into Target where they had exactly ONE Cat Tastrophe. Who I bought (along with pet food) because they had 14 Frankies from the same line and only one of my baby. Yeah, and she was on sale.
Walmart where I died of boredom but picked up sodas for cheap, and then BiLo for my cheese so I can snack happy.
Home away home to turn on the A/C and not melt because I'm not sure Mom isn't right and that they haven't cleaned the pool in more than a month. Might still grab a book and go dip my feet in though.

(watching this on a loop makes me giggle uncontrollably. Sorry!)
Thank you for asking, Thor.
I did warn you lot that there would be gifs of the whole Thor experience and um, yeah. That's happening riiiiiight about...
now. Now is good.

I have to admit that when this scene cropped up in the movie, I couldn't wait for someone to turn it into one of these Read posters. :P

And for when you need to use it for your own nefarious purposes.
I'm pretty sure these are all very useful:

I'd like to clear up the whole Loki fangirl thing. I'm a fan of movie!Loki because he's interesting. He's flawed (understatement of the century), he's funny, he's clearly insane but you also see what drove him over the edge, or at least get glimpses.
I like my villains complex. I also like my heroes complex, but we're on a Loki kick.

Yes, Thor. When recruiting someone, make sure to remind them that at the end of their helping you, they'll be right back in their pen. That's the way to motivate the sociopath in the room.

Something tells me this will get some serious usage this season.

I imagine wirework is both awesome and awful at the same time.

Thanks for the confirmation.

So... deleted scenes?

See? Completely justified in his crazy, right? :P
I dunno. I think that if you see Thor and pay attention to the bits in The Avengers, then turn around and watch Thor: The Dark World and still don't at least understand why Loki is so off his rocker, you're just not paying attention. You don't have to like it, you don't have to think he's justified (I'm not saying he is, btw), you just have to see the puzzle pieces falling into place, you know?
It was fun seeing the movie with Cass who drooled pretty heavily at the shirtless Thor thrown in for no good reason (I laughed, I couldn't help it, she just looked so happy!) but who also understood the need for a good morally questionable sidekick. (I'd say villain, only he technically wasn't the villain and like I said, I like complex and our villain wasn't.)
But to keep this from being ALL Loki, have some Sif/Thor:

Because fuck movie!Odin.
The best thing about a well done fantasy type movie is that you walk out of it feeling like a little kid. Like you're three seconds away from a massive game of Let's Pretend, and you wanna be a super hero or villain or something, and the world looks different enough that maybe it's possible.
I love that feeling and anything that prompts it is automatically on the happy making list. :)

Included because during the trailer for Cap2, Cass turns to me and says, "Black Widow but no Hawkeye? I'm sorry."

Goddamned time zones!
'm lazy so I'll just ask: Sesshoumaru's fanhorde likes him because...?
Because he's pretty, mostly, but also because "aww, Daddy issues, let me love you back to life." I'm telling you, this comparison is amusing for more reasons than one, LOL!!

Date: 2013-11-21 12:34 pm (UTC)People might have thought I was crazier than usual.
Seriously, when will this teleportation thing get on board with being a viable option? I don't even want it for the obvious stalker type things, I just want to haul some movies over to a friend's place and find how just how similar two fictional characters are!
