Woo and hoo!

Clearly the perfect time to try and mostly finish two customs is when you're half blind and cannot speak, right?
Right.
Soooooo... guess who showed up at my house this afternoon?

53! She's so cute! So adorable!

So about to be scalped! (and if you're eyeballin' 53 here, I should warn you, the wig on mine is very, very thin in spots. And I normally don't notice such things but geez.)
Soooooo... a few hours of prying wigs with spoons and cursing the lack of non-acetone nailpolish remover and a cut or three later and we've got wig swappage! I still need to glue the wigs down (something else to buy) but this is how they look currently.

Book!Ruthie or Book!Elizabeth. Or something like that. In any case, I think she looks fabulous and I am rather proud of myself. Look at those shiny curls. Just looooooooook at them. Mygod, the cute. Why don't I have tacky glue so I can glue her wig down and snuggle her without worrying about it falling off? WHY, dollygods, WHY ME.
I mean, she needs a name.

Ozma helps take pictures, see?

And MG as a blonde.

Btw, AG, had you made Isabelle with the MG mold, I would have bought her. Just saying. *cough*

So. They both need names. Suggestions are welcome!
I am so pleased with myself, man. I'd be happier if I didn't have a chunk of my knuckle missing (I'm thinking I may never rewig another AG doll as long as I live) but still. Super pleased.
New glasses in a week or so. Woo and hoo. They're plastic frames this time and we're hoping they'll look okay on me. They're the rectangular darker plastic (purple) style that seemed to be one of four options. Plastic in various shades, old lady round metal (no, my face is round enough and I don't need to look like I'm 60), cat-eye (I look cross-eyed in those) and the kind that I swear look exactly like the kind I wore when I was 11. Um, no. Sooooo... I didn't have a lot to choose from.
That said, I made sure the insurance got the joy of paying for some overpriced eywear.
But because I'm blind as a bat, it always takes forever for them to come back.
They didn't fuss and the doc was nice as can be. Yays!
Right.

Date: 2014-03-17 09:06 pm (UTC)For some reason 53 looks like a Hannah to me, and MG2 looks like an Olivia.

Date: 2014-03-18 10:46 pm (UTC)Hrmm. Hannah for 53 reminds me of State of Grace which is one of those shows I will never forgive TV for cancelling on me. Neverrrrrrrrrr!

Date: 2014-03-18 01:58 am (UTC)Definitely getting Jess vibes (Jessa?) from Blondie, tho :P
ETA: YAYZ for nice eye doctors! And my glasses are purple. Or at least, they started out purple :P And ridiculously expensive - Sigrid Olsen - but I've gotten a fair few compliments on 'em. =)

Date: 2014-03-18 10:41 pm (UTC)Oooh, a quick google search says those are likely some spiffy glasses!
I have to admit that once I was told the BOGO didn't apply to me, I bypassed all glasses under $100 (I eyeballed the $99 section but it was woefully lacking in anything awesome) because I figured insurance wanted to pay, they would pay.

Date: 2014-03-20 02:36 am (UTC)And now you're making me want to reread classic SVT!!

Date: 2014-03-20 10:23 pm (UTC)SVT is filled with all kinds of goodness. I have a small pile of books a friend picked up last fall and I admit that when I'm lazy, I re-read them because of happy. :D
