AG stuff, part the second or something
Jul. 7th, 2014 04:32 amAnd now the thrilling conclusion to the new AG stuff post! Delayed due to jail time and an impromptu waterfall in my kitchen and also hair dye that dyes one's scalp and the roots but doesn't actually take all that well on the rest of one's hair. The. HELL.
Anyway, part two is the accessories and furniture offerings!

Bouquet Bedding
Item# G0634 // $38
Add beautiful stripes and florals to her doll's bedroom for a look that's light and bright! This set includes:
A reversible comforter with a big striped flower on one side and a pretty pink-and-white floral pattern on the other
A striped bolster pillow
A reversible throw
A fun and furry Coconut™ pillow

Coconut pillow! Y'know, I initially wrote this off as a meh, but you actually get more than the usual bedding sets with this. It's a little pricey (my own bedding doesn't cost this much) but on sale, I'd totally give this a shot.

Bouquet Bed Set
Item# G0636 // $175
Inspire brilliant dreams with this bright bed set! It features space for two dolls to sleep, plus special accessories to organize and display. Includes:
A beautiful blue wooden bed with a three-compartment bookcase and ribboned headboard for holding photos and cards
A handy trundle bed for sleepovers
A flower-print mattress for the bed
An extra mattress for the trundle
A pretty pink LED flower lamp that lights up with the touch of a button
Two translucent organizer boxes for the bookcase
A polka-dot diary
A pretend book
Four printed cards
Two glossy cardstock photos
A green plastic photo clip
A desktop picture frame with a picture of Coconut™ inside
Decorative stickers for adding her own personal touch

Widget's bed didn't cost this much so... no. Just no to the price alone. If I ignore the price, I love so much about this, but the price is just such a sticking point that I can't enjoy the fact that this is kinda Widget's bed in blue. Well, and Widget opted for drawers and not a trundle, but still. Very similar. So many little things!
But once more, the price. Nope.

Bouquet Nightstand
Item# G0638 // $58
It's the perfect way to complete her bedroom set—and keep necessities close at nighttime! Includes:
A pink wooden nightstand with silvery drawer pulls
A yellow clock with a knob on the back for changing the time
An orange vase of flowers for a fresh, cheery look
Three glossy postcards
Decorative stickers for adding her own personal touch

My glob, I wish I had the money to blow on completing a doll bedroom without thinking about it. "$58 for a doll dresser? Make it a double, the twins do so get a wicked case of the green eyed monster."
Alas, I don't. I might, if I only collected for AG but the MH and EAH army say otherwise.
Moving on, pink and orange with silver thrown in? Ugh. Luckily the orange is an accessory, but still. Orange and pink usually signifies that something has gone wrong. On sale, I'd probably justify it to myself. Otherwise, nope.

Sunset Sleepover Tent
Item# G0653 // $85
Perfect for a night under the stars! This doll-sized nylon tent has a window on both sides, plus embroidery and a zippered opening. The fabric door and window covers can be rolled up and secured with straps. Includes a bright lantern that really lights up!
I believe Cass summed it up best: "Wait, what? Who picked the colors on this release? Did they throw darts to find out which colors went together?"
That is a very bright set. But I have never really had a desire to go camping and if I felt the urge to send the dolls camping, they'd probably wind up with Molly's old set or something. I do dig the working lantern though.

Sunset Sleepover Bag for Dolls
Item# G0645 // $28
She'll settle in for the sweetest dreams in this doll-sized sleeping bag. The quilted sleeping bag features a rich orange-and-purple flower print and has a side zip. Also includes a comfy printed pillow
I think I prefer melon on nails and not much else, truthfully. I think I must be old, or preocupied because all I'm seeing when I look at this is "nice, but not for $28, thank you. Next?"

Trail Accessories
Item# G0651 // $38
It's the perfect day to hike and see the sights! This set includes:
A colorful canteen with a cap that really opens
A carabiner for clipping accessories to her belt
A compass
Binoculars with a neck strap
A bag of pretend trail mix
A braided bracelet
A sweater-knit hat
There's nothing here that screams buy me, want me, neeeeeed me. It's a thing. It is there. The hat reminds me of Julie's shirt, which isn't necessarily a good thing. :P

Camp Treats Set
Item# G0655 // $58
A camping trip wouldn't be complete without yummy treats to share and eat! This set includes:
A pretend camp stove with knobs that make clicking sounds when your girl turns them, and legs that fold for easy storage
A flowery tea kettle
A red grill pan
Two half-round pretend grilled sandwiches
Two pretend mini chocolate pies
Pretend melon slices
Two plates
Two cups
A dish towel with canoe graphics
A yellow fabric storage bag
Those sandwiches look gross, you didn't even TRY, AG. I'm glad they told me those were pies because I was thinking it was something else. This is just a big pass on most fronts. I wouldn't turn down the little tea kettle and the stove itself isn't awful, but nothing about all this is calling my name all that loudly and those sandwiches will require a helicopter ride to the nearest hospital...

Doodle Backpack Set
Item# G0620 // $28
Girls can get their dolls ready for school in style! This set includes:
A white doll-sized backpack with doodle graphics and a single crossover strap
A pencil box with two pretend mechanical pencils
A sketchpad
A notebook
A folder
A pink plastic ruler
Alphabet stickers

Pretty sure everyone in the history of ever has commented on the impractical nature of a white bookbag, so I won't even bother beyond this: doll stuff is awesome sometimes because things that won't work in reality don't have the same limitations in doll world. Your doll isn't going to be taking this thing on the bus (both ways) to school and dragging it from class to class, throwing it around on the way home from the bus stop, and then wondering why it went from bright white to god awful in a matter of minutes.
Doll notebook! Sketchpad! Cute ruler! So... sale, yes. Otherwise I can probably survive pretty happily.

Jewel Highlights Set
Item# G0632 // $15
Streaks of color in a snap! Girls can mix and match these clip-on highlights to create a dramatic look for their dolls again and again. Includes three 10" highlights in purple, blue, and green, plus easy-to-follow instructions and styling tips.

The second picture doesn't do much, but the picture of the extensions in the doll's hair sells things better. Y'know, once I stop laughing at the Avrilness of it all. $15 is still entirely too much for these, though, especially with Halloween coming back around.

Accent Braid Clips // $15
Girls can easily give their dolls a new look with these beautiful doll hair braids! They attach with simple clips and come in two different sizes to let girls experiment with different styles. Package includes easy-to-follow instructions and styling tips.

For $15, you get two braids you can clip in in the same color. I chose the blond to showcase the braids in the doll's hair but the red to showcase how off their red is. How, exactly, are they going to get around this with 61's red hair now?

Aqua Earring Tree
Item# G0670 // $10
Help make organization easy and fun! This pretty earring tree holds up to 11 pairs of doll-sized earrings. A wide base ensures it stays upright.

There are worse ways to spend your money, I suppose, and I remember people really wanted the last earring tree sold on its own, so this is bound to make some of them happy. I will be passing because my doll earrings have a home. In a box. Somewhere.

Doodle Earrings
Item# G0718 // $10
Doodles in dangles—how delightful! Dolls can wear the bow-shaped studs alone, or add adorable dangles with either a heart or a flower inside. Includes purple studs, teal studs, heart dangles, and flower dangles.
These are adorable. Ivy, if she weren't sulking about this whole being retired thing, would probably be poking me with a stick and pointing to her ears.

Pets Earrings
Item# G0702 // $10
It's a fun pack of pet-inspired earrings just for dolls. She can have her doll wear the studs alone or add dangles featuring friendly, furry faces. Includes flower studs, butterfly studs, cat dangles, and dog dangles.
Despite the fact that the cat so clearly goes better with the non pink color scheme, I still think these are cute.

3-in-1 Ring Set
Item# G0727 // $8
Add a pretty little accessory to a doll's day! This set includes three doll-sized rings: a pink flower ring, a white heart ring, and a Coconut™ ring—it's a blue bow shape with a decal featuring Coconut's furry face.

I'm still not entirely sold on the concept of dolls wearing rings, specifically these dolls considering how their hands are molded but I think this is cute enough for what it is, and three rings for the bang isn't awful.

Wrap Watch
Item# G0674 // $8
The time is right for a fun new pretend watch! This one double-wraps around a doll's wrist, so your girl can imagine her doll is right on time for every event.
If I have never shouted this from the roof tops, let me do so now: I hate pink and yellow as a color scheme. I HATE IT SO MUCH.
Otherwise, this watch looks like the 80's threw up on the doll's wrist.

Violet Heart Watch
Item# G0681 // $8
This doll-sized timepiece shows her loving spirit—with a printed heart on the face. This pretend watch has a purple plastic band, and she can imagine the hands are pointing to her favorite time, all the time!
Her... favorite time? Ohmylord, really? Such a weird write-up for the only watch since Ruthie's I've been tempted by.
Anyway, part two is the accessories and furniture offerings!

Item# G0634 // $38
