BeForever, an ongoing updated list
Aug. 28th, 2014 08:57 amBeForever is live! :D And scarring people left, right, and possibly even center. I know I've seen things I cannot unsee and I've only had about ten minutes to look at random things. (damned work!) I haven't actually peeked in at any fandom discussion, so this time you'll be getting nothing but my inane rambling about things unless otherwise stated.
I'm going to go in random order but edit this after each character so that we're in chronological order except for Samantha who will be our grand finale. So grab a seat and some popcorn (or toast, I'm having caramel apple toast) and let's judge the hell out of some toys for children!

We begin with Kaya.

Kaya is available in three formats. The usual (which I just linked to), Doll, Book, and Accessories, and Doll and 3 Book Set. The dolls did increase to $115 but if you're getting the book set with the doll, that's now much cheaper due to decreased number of books included in the set.
Granted one of those is currently "sold out" but I'm betting that's just a glitch because nothing in AG land works properly on day 1.
Something about Kaya is different but I don't know if it's simply they positioned her hair ties differently combined with the more mustard color of her dress or what. If someone else figures it out, I'll let you know.

Pow-Wow Hair Set of Today
$18
Nez Perce girls of today wear adornments like these to pow-wows. This set includes:
A headband with a traditional woven pattern
Pretty golden ribbons to lace around braids
A colorful set of woven plaques to fasten at the ends
Look! Kaya got a hair set, too! But, um, AG? Maybe you should show it actually ON the doll. Y'know, for science. Yeah, for science.

Mini Kaya doll. $25. They redesigned the minis again, changing the cloth body to vinyl. I think Kaya was one of the cuter dolls in the old version and she's looking a little blank here, but that's not her biggest problem. I don't think a mini is worth the asking price, cute or otherwise.
And finally, as part of the BF launch, they've created a line of "inspired by" clothing for girls.

This is the outfit inspired by Kaya. My Saige meter is off the charts, man. I'm not tiny enough to wear any of this, so the link is included for completitionist reasons.

Caroline is next.
The doll and her Meet didn't change that I can tell, but she does have some new stuff to show off.

Caroline's Party Gown.
$36
Caroline can’t wait to celebrate in this elegant outfit—the fanciest one she’s ever owned! It includes:
An ice-blue empire-waist gown with a gathered bodice and skirt, sheer puff sleeves, and an intricate lace hem
A headband adorned with a pretty fabric rosette and faux pearl
Long white gloves
Satin shoes with crisscross ankle straps
Huh. I actually like the promo picture for this outfit, which is surprising because I was one of those who sneered at the eBay image when it was found earlier this year. That said, the leaked dress was very pretty on various dolls but it was very, very shiny. I wonder if this version will have the same issue?

Caroline's Table and Treats
$150
Times are tough during the War of 1812, so Caroline is extra grateful to celebrate special occasions with her family’s finest treats and table settings:
A sturdy wooden table, designed just like the ones made in Caroline’s time
A white fitted tablecloth with ruched ribbon trim and floral embroidery
A silvery metal tiered tray
Pretend goodies, including: cookies with jelly centers, muffins, fancy cakes, cream puffs, and fruit
A fruit bowl with a pretty ship graphic
A white pedestal
A ceramic tureen with a blue floral pattern and removable lid
A silvery metal ladle
A pair of white bowls with decorative blue trim
I... I don't understand. We're getting rid of her table and chairs for this? Really? I... I don't see, actually. This format didn't seem to take with the NOLA girls (here) and there you got more stuff. I do wonder if they'll show us what's under the tablecloth... When I originally saw this, I thought of the NOLA treats but turns out they're actually pretty different aside from the general idea and the re-use of one of the molds. Based on the price alone, I say thee nay.

Mini Caroline.
Can't sleep. Mini Caro will hack me into pieces if I so much as blink.

And finally, we have the Inspired By outfit. If you'd pointed this out and said, "This is inspired by one of the BeForever/Historical girls, can you guess which one?" and I couldn't see the others first, I'd have no friggin' clue. This is such a leap, really. I do dig the jacket and the Live Stream shows that the shirt echoes Caroline's dress with the sash, so there's that. Also, jeggings are a thing that needs to cease to be.
Caroline here shows that if you look at the main page I linked you to way at the beginning of her section, odds are good that everything after the books is on the way out, sort of like how they show the sold out stuff on everyone's main page at the end. This little trick should help you ID the stuff you'll want to snag ASAP as it's not long for this world. I think.

Onward to Josefina!

Josefina's doll only comes in two versions (one is "sold out") because they haven't released her third book (the Journey book) yet. In addition to changing the colors on her outfit, I'm pretty sure they changed her drawers, too. (Which is just funny because I'm southern enough to not hear the 'r' in that word.)

Josefina is our first character whose outfit changed enough to be recognized as a new outfit and as such is available for purchase seperately. :D
Josefina's Outfit
Item# BKL03 // $36
Josefina greets each beautiful morning and dresses for a day of baking, gardening, and learning to make medicines. This authentic 1824 New Mexican outfit features:
A white camisa edged in lace
A bright-red skirt printed with a sprinkling of tiny blue wildflowers
A beautiful blue woven sash
Soft white drawers
Faux-leather moccasins with laces
A sprig of faux evening primroses tied with a satin ribbon, to add to her hair

For AG prices, especially now, this is a pretty good deal. And by pretty good, I mean really good since you get everything from the hair accessories down to the shoes, drawers included. I'm contemplating it for later, though I don't know when they'll stop selling the outfits separately. (Huzzah for them offering it as a choice, though!)

Josefina's Inspired By outfit is really cute, although it's pretty short for AG. It also reminds me of something the Hearts 4 Hearts girls wear, but that's probably just my brain mashing things together strangely. I do wish they made these outfits in doll sizes as well.
Josefina has five items (not including the girl's version of her nightgown as it appears most of those are going away) in the Danger Zone, fwiw. This includes her socks and shoes. Rumor has it that she'll get her Journey book next Spring along with some new stuff. It's also possible she'll be axed next year, too, but who knows at this point?

Rebecca, come on down!

Rebecca and her accessories. You know how they say you should wear the dress/outfit, it shouldn't wear you? Bex, honey, that hat is wearing you. Sit down, hon, we need to talk.

Rebecca's Accessories
Item# BKF11 // $24
When Rebecca’s out and about in New York, she always makes sure to bring her favorite accessories:
A dramatic hat with a ruched crown and two rows of velvet ribbon trim
A velveteen purse on a hand strap
A shiny necklace that her grandmother brought from Russia
I really like that necklace, but it feels weird because isn't that the same write-up for the pin she used to have? Huh. I'm leaning towards probably not to this but I really do like that necklace...

Rebecca's Outfit
Item# BKF10 // $36
Rebecca loves making people smile when she steps onstage in this beautiful purple dress and jacket! This authentic 1914 outfit includes:
A plum dress with a pleated herringbone skirt
A pretty purple boucle jacket with a velvet sash, faux-pearl buttons, and crisp white collar and cuffs
Soft black tights
Ruffled white bloomers
Purple velvet shoes with pearly buttons
A shiny golden barrette to hold back her curls
Fun fact: This was listed as sold out for the longest time. It's the only reason I didn't make my order BEFORE blathering on like an idiot; I wanted to give them time to fix the glitch because why yes, yes I will be buying this. Partially so I don't end up buying Rebecca and basically creating a dupe in my collection but also because I think it's loverly.

Rebecca's Holiday Outfit
Item# BKF71 // $34
Hanukkah is Rebecca’s favorite time of year, and she feels like a star in this outfit:
A periwinkle-blue dress with tulip sleeves, a shawl collar, a satin waistband with a decorative buckle, and a tiered skirt with lace and satin trim
A headband with pretty flower rosettes
White tights
Double-strap shoes
I like that the BF outfits seem to have a consistent price point. Huzzah! I also really like this dress and it's really interesting to think back to it's prototype form (here) and see what we wound up with. While I won't be buying this today, that's only because the Meet outfits are essentially LE as seperates and I need to prioritize. I really fell in love with this during Midoria's LiveStream.

Rebecca's Hairstyling Set
Colors changed.

Rebecca's Director Set
Item# BKF73 // $75
Rebecca dreams of becoming an actress someday. Authentic to 1914, this moviemaking set includes:
A director’s chair with a canvas seat and a big gold star
A megaphone with “DIRECTOR” printed on the side
A focus board to write the details of a scene before the actors begin, with a cloth to erase it
Pages from the script for Rebecca’s movie, based on actual scripts from the era
A mini replica of a real 1914 movie poster from The Perils of Pauline, a hit film that Rebecca wants to see
A mini movie magazine modeled on those from Rebecca’s day
Title cards, which were used before movies had sound so audiences could read the dialogue on-screen
Movie tickets that Rebecca keeps as mementos of films she’s seen
I love little accessories and this has so many. I hate the price tag, though and it's not like this had a chance of coming home anyway due to that.

Rebecca's Teatime Traditions
Item# BKF99 // $68
Rebecca loves her family's cherished traditions, from teatime to Friday night's special Sabbath dinner. This special set includes:
Mouth-watering pretend challah bread with a white service cloth
A yummy make-believe custard tart with fruit
An elegant ceramic serving plate
Two drinking glasses with molded designs
A lovely teapot with a removable lid
A pretend canister of Ceylon tea
A pair of precious blue candlesticks from Rebecca's neighbor Mr. Rossi, with two pretend Sabbath candles
Those candlesticks are to die for and the glasses are simple but pretty. But can we go back to the candlesticks now? *dead*

Becca's mini doll is still showing sold out.

Rebecca's Inspired By dress seems really... young. It doesn't help that the girl wearing it in their last BF video reminds me of my cousin during an age where I really wanted to smack her more often than not. :P This dress reads as a kid version of a Bitty outfit and that's not the best thing ever.
Rebecca's got six items in the Danger Zone.

Kit's turn.

Kit and her accessories.

Kit's Accessories
Item# BKD75 // $24
When Kit’s out and about, she always makes sure to bring her favorite accessories:
A pretty cuff bracelet
A felt cloche hat trimmed with a wide red ribbon
A purse with embroidered flowers

That hat! *grabby hands* But I feel it's a downgrade to go from her compass to a "pretty cuff bracelet". Kit's a practical lass and that compass was definitely very Kit moreso than any of this.

Kit's Outfit
Item# BKD74 // $36
Kit is ready for any news story in her favorite floral dress! This authentic 1930s outfit includes:
A bright blue-green sleeveless dress with a Peter Pan collar, bright red flower-shaped buttons, and a flared skirt with a vivid floral print
Ruffled white bloomers
Strappy scarlet shoes with white faux stitching
A hair barrette
No socks. No stockings. No tights. It's weird how Kit's is the first outfit I don't feel commands its price tag. Woe. I'm really looking forward to people putting this on non!Kit dolls though, and I'll likely get it a bit later.

Kit's Reporter Dress
Item# BKD77 // $28
Kit wears this outfit when she’s hot on the trail of a big news story! It includes:
A pretty polka-dot dress, featuring puff sleeves, a Peter Pan collar, and a ribbon bow
A matching vest
White Mary Jane shoes
A green barrette
Hrmm. I wonder if this is supposed to actually be cheaper or not. They're really pushing this shade of pink/red and that teal, aren't they? If the polka dots weren't doing funny things to my eyes, I could probably figure out what this reminds me of. Any ideas? (I'm going to need to see this in the wild or in photos, I think.)

Kit's Photographer Outfit
Item# BKD79 // $34
Kit will be pretty as a picture when she snaps that perfect shot! This outfit includes:
A dress with a lemon-yellow bodice, a pair of grosgrain bows on the scalloped waist and neckline, and a geometric-print skirt
A coral pointelle-knit cardigan with white flower-shaped buttons
A big matching hairbow
Shoes with bows on the toes
I still hate this outfit. I like the cardigan and I don't mind the full shot, but once I get too close to seeing the dress on its own, my hatred flares up again. It reads as very, very young. Bitty young.

Kit's Typewriter Set
Item# BKD83 // $50
Kit loves the clickety-clack of her typewriter as she writes a news story. This set includes:
A metal typewriter
Typing paper
A typewriter eraser
A pretty print box
A photo of Kit’s favorite baseball player, Ernie Lombardi
Newspapers created by Kit, reporting the events of the Kittredge household and neighborhood
I've got her last version so I'm good but good on them for bringing her typewriter back!

Kit's mini. The horror!

Kit's Inspired By outfit is really cute.
Kit has two outfits in the Danger Zone.

Julie time!

Julie and her accessories. I'll give you a minute. Those glasses, man. Those glasses. Some people are in love. Some people *waves* are not. :P

Julie's Accessories
Item# BKD59 // $24
When Julie’s out and about, she always makes sure to bring her favorite accessories:
A fun tie-dyed bag
A braided headband with an attached flower
Purple-framed sunglasses for true California style
I dig the bag. I wouldn't mind the headband. I will not be buying this, though. Those glasses are just too much for me. I'm not cool enough, I suppose. Fictional!California style (casual or otherwise) will just never be my thing. :P

Julie's Outfit
Item# BKD58 // $36
Julie loves wearing this bright, sunny outfit when she plays basketball in the driveway. This authentic ’70s outfit features:
A lemon-yellow crocheted vest
A tank top with a floral peace-sign graphic
Bell-bottom jeans with funky floral insets on each leg
Underwear
Platform sandals
Underwear and shoes are yays. I can do without the rest and thus this will not be following me home. I think I'd actually really like this as a whole without the floral insets on the bell bottoms. Ah well.

Julie's Tunic Outfit
Item# BKD61 // $34
Julie dresses in this colorful outfit for a day of exploring Golden Gate Park. It includes:
A denim chambray tunic with an embroidered yoke, long puff sleeves, and a belt with twirly tassels
Bright-berry pants with cuffs and patch pockets
Sunny yellow clogs with faux-wood soles
I think I would like this better split up, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how other people mix and match this sucker. It looks eons better on Julie than it did on Ruthie (or was that not!Ruthie?) back in the eBay listings.

(I just like this last shot for some reason.)
Julie's Winter Coat & Hat
Item# BKD63 // $34
When Julie rides the trolley on chilly days, she stays toasty warm in this outfit:
A bright purple belted coat with big patch pockets and fun faux-fur collar and cuffs
A slouchy beret-style hat to match
Midoria (see the Live Stream link below) says this fabric is felt. I hate felt. It catches on my fingers and I'm twitching just thinking about it. :( Otherwise, I think it's actually very cute and really unexpected. Well played, AG. On the sneakiness front, that is.

Julie's Holiday Outfit
Item# BKD65 // $ 34
Julie sparkles on Christmas Day in this fancy outfit. It includes:
A pretty paisley brocade dress, featuring sheer long sleeves with lace trim and a velvet sash
A velvet headband
Lace-patterned tights
Shiny patent Mary Jane shoes
I'm fence sitting on this. On the one hand, I think there's potential for loveliness here. On the other hand, the fug potential is equally strong.

The cross-strapped shoes are cute though, even if I don't think they work so well with this outfit.

Julie's Egg Chair Set
Item# BKD69 // $100
After basketball practice and homework, Julie unwinds in her stereo egg chair. The set includes:
A stereo egg chair with real working speakers and a 3.5mm audio cable for girls to attach to their own electronic music players
A matching plush orange ottoman
A sheet of ’70s-themed decals to decorate the chair
I like toys that do stealth jobs like this. I have a soft spot for Egg Chairs after a certain Spice Girls photoshoot. I do not have $100 to blow on a doll chair. But it's cute and I hope it pops up in people's photos soon.

Julie's Snack Set
Item# BKD67 // $50
Julie’s sleepover fun has just begun with this groovy set!
An authentic yellow ’70s rotary phone with a dial that really turns
A pretend layered gelatin treat in a fancy parfait glass
Faux celery sticks with peanut butter
Make-believe Jiffy Pop® popcorn
Three pretend deviled eggs
A drinking glass with a cute owl design
Two plates in sunny flower-shaped holders
A pair of hugging monkeys
Ummmm... I would actually totally buy this if I had the money or there was a sale or something. I've always liked her Jiffy Pop and little deviled eggs? Hell yes! And a little owl glass? I was originally going to write this off, but I think it just crept onto my "one day" list. Sneaky, Jules. Sneaky. Random hugging monkeys!

mini doll. She's actually rather cute. Stock photo syndrome or is she going to be legitimately cute?

Her Inspired By outfit is making my eyes hurt. For real. I think parts are cute (the shirt, the skirt) but the leggings and the hat are causing me pain. (The bag is adorable though! I've looked at this shot more than a handful of times and only just saw it, that's how much I hate the leggings on this!)
Julie's got five outfits in the Danger Zone. The Casual Outfit has lost its accessories already, I believe.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go see if I can watch the Live Stream of the DC store event. We'll see how that works!
I'm going to go in random order but edit this after each character so that we're in chronological order except for Samantha who will be our grand finale. So grab a seat and some popcorn (or toast, I'm having caramel apple toast) and let's judge the hell out of some toys for children!

Loving Caroline's ice-blue dress *Homerdrool*
I'd totally love to have Julie's winter coat and hat in human-size. (I like that third pic because its not on the Julie doll? Her mouth is closed, at least...hmm...)
