Let's see. I bought a good chunk of Widget's presents already. I do need to start buying his stuff for the advent calendar this weekend but his actual presents just need to be wrapped. Just bought Mumsy's gift this morning when I noticed something she's been hinting for was on sale along with a subscription to something I think she'll get some serious use out of...

I'm waiting til after CM for zallia's list, I think, and I'll be keeping an eye out for stuff for irishgypsie during the CM sale, just in case. I bought luxken27's present and she's gotten it already...

I'm doing fairly well, I think. No idea what to get Cass and Ari, but other than that...


In semi, but not really, related news, AG is doing daily deals until Cyber Monday. Thus far it's been the DVDs and something of Isabelle's. I caved and bought her performance outfit yesterday because it was/is on sale plus free shipping. Huzzah! Today they threw in her dance case but I'm not all that interested in that.

Normally by this time of the year we've had things sell out, but most of Isabelle's stuff isn't even on backorder. Hence, I believe, the sales. The free shipping is an inspired touch and definitely what sealed the deal for me and a few others.

I feel kinda weird when everyone else seems to be going on about how dull her collection is. Really? I kinda love it. I mean, if you were expecting a classic ballet set then yeah, this is not the collection for you. If you don't like dance or the style elements they've used, again, not the collection for you.

But I love that her collection had seperates. Those, and a lot of people forget this, were backordered for a crazy amount of time. I think that tutu was on b/o for months. I want to say it came off b/o in July.

I love her jacket and even the rest of the accessories in that set, although it is overpriced. I think her performance outfit is nifty and I dig the metallic dress without the tights (and not on Isabelle herself). I could do without her sparkle dress thing and I'm not a huge fan of the flappy wing thing on her pajamas, but it's... a thing.

For me, the collection falters in that it's priced too high. Her stuff is friggin' expensive and people reacted to that AND the fact that a lot of Saige's crap was on sale before her year was over, too. (Still on sale now!)

I do wonder, and will likely always wonder, if she would have sold better had she not been so safe. What if the pink hair wasn't so easily hidden? What if she was black or mixed or anything but classic mold? I'm pretty sure that if they'd gone the MG route, I'd have bought her even if EVERYTHING else was the same. I wonder if anyone else would have followed suit.


And daaaaaaaang, people are fast on those lightning deals on Amazon. How do they do that? The two things I tried for sold out before they'd even been up for 3 seconds. No. I am dead serious. In under three seconds, gone. Poof! I'm vexed because tonight Avea and Sirena from MH are scheduled and I was considering trying for them but it's looking like that would just be a waste of my time.

This weekend is gift-buying time for me, which of course meas I left my gift-buying credit card at home *facepalm* This vacation has just been a comedy of errors. Oh, well.

Hooray for being mostly done! I was all proud of myself for having already gotten 2 things but now I feel I'm behind the 8 ball. Amazing what the passage of a couple of days will do for you :P

I see to recall everyone being all up in arms bc Isabella was another blond white girl (diversity? what diversity?), so I'm guessing that had a lot to do with the general backlash?

Yup. Another blonde, classic mold. Factor in the fact that she's from DC and most of her clothes would look better on say, a character who is most decidedly not white... I get the Isabelle backlash. Her stuff's backlash, however, leaves me a bit confused.
