Belated birthday joy

Various things conspired to keep this from going up yesterday (or earlier today) but I'm not chancing missing out again:

Happy belated birthday to the one, the only luxken27! I hope it was fantabulous and I hope you also know that when your birthday is a Monday you get to claim the whole week.


















I'm sorry the two things I had planned are going to be late but they're still in the works. Both fell victim to poor planning/time management but still, they might happen within the month, and if not actually April, than within 31 days or so since neither is huge, they just require me to be able to fully read and comprehend a calendar and how time works. :P


I went out and hung out with a friend yesterday, and we wandered down the Princess aisle at Target where we saw a giant multipack of princesses. Friend commented on the princesses from left to right and was about three in and made some meh comment on Punzie to which I sighed that it was a shame they never gave Punzie her frying pan for optimal weapon usage.

We hit the food court and just as we were finished eating, a woman comes by with a little pink wagon and I sit there and try to figure out what the fuzzy she's doing. Eventually I realize she's doing balloon animals. And by animals I mean she made a lot of balloon princesses while I sat there waiting on friend to get her three balloon creations. (She kept letting kids go in front of her.) It seemed fitting somehow.

We never got the WnW 10-pans. Hell, we never got the matte crayons either (those were a thing, right?)

Well, that makes me feel better, LOL. And actually my stores did get the matte crayons (Velvet Lip Pencils or something like that), though I don't know how well they sold. There is a space for it in the permanent wall display, tho, and I've never seen it empty :P

if you fall in love with any of the stuff that's on a display and not going to be permanent, the Wag has started immediately marking things down as they transition to a new display every month instead of throwing it to the back to languish for six months before markdown

ARGH! Considering that my Wags *never* get LE collections when they're first spotted, this basically just means that it's going to be that much harder to track down the LE stuff. Boo :( Guess I will familiarize myself with their clearance shelves, LOL.

Well, anything that has a big ol' endcap display is likely safe for three weeks, maybe more depending on how up on things your stores are. They're basically supposed to last a month and then switch out to something new. Some of ours switch out religiously and others hang on for an embarrassingly long time because our warehouse never got in the stuff for the next month (or the one after that).

I think the Maybelline Rebel Bloom display was what clued me in to the markdown practices since that stuff went directly from the display to the clearance bins without the customary wait time in between.

The little displays like the WnW polishes are going to likely depend on how fast they sell, whether they have anything else to replace them with, and how on top of things the store is. That last one might be more helpful to you since if your stores are running a few weeks behind, this won't really impact them for anything beyond the displays with dates clearly printed. And even then, they might just cover the dates/sales to avoid having to deal with it.

Of course, it's also possible that your stores and mine are going to differ considering you got the Velvet Lip thingies and we just got the signage for a day. :p
