Before hanging out with R, she brought over a box with some MH dolls she'd bought since I last saw her. She'd had plans to use them for a few projects and none ever took off, so she offered them to me. If you've ever seen pictures of my room/collection, clearly you know that my answer is usually, "Yes! I'll take them and love them and pet them and call them precious!" I had no idea who they were going to be, so I tried to be good and not buy any new ones (hence part of the reason on my MH ban) aside from the Londoom set which was on sale and I figured it wasn't likely that it was going to be one of the chosen dolls.

I was right, so that was good, though again I clearly do not have any problems with twinses.

So I opened the box and saw Scaris Deuce (ha!), Music Festival Abbey... and Ghouls Night Out Spectra times two. Eee! I didn't have her so that worked out rather well. When I poked a bit further I found... Invisibilly. :D So while he eluded me before, now I have him and I didn't have to pay for him. Huzzah!

And to celebrate, when we went to Target, Haunted Twyla followed me home.

I still do not understand Mattel's logic behind the distrubution and prices on Ever After High. They STILL had Getting Fairest for $37. What the fuzzy? This is an older line and it was never out of production long enough (at all?) to justify it being hard to find and that's not normally how Target prices things anyway so... wtf?

You've got all the EAH dolls at jacked up prices and then you've got MH like, "$12.99 for Haunted? How about 14.99, maybe less, for the original re-releases? You want multipacks because we've got those, too."

How... why... Mattel, wtf are you doing?

Welch's Mocktail Strawberry Daiquiri smells amazing, tastes somewhere between gross and disappointing. I had such high hopes since their sparkling grape juice is a gift from the gods. We'll see how the sangria goes tomorrow.

Wait. You mean that your basic run-of-the-mill doll in Target's toy section is priced at $37? A single doll? Because WTF, that sounds like all kinds of wrong. And would probably be the reason they aren't selling any, LOL.

(Of course, this train of thought has led me down the road to wonder if actual toy stores even exist anymore? I remember having so much fun as a kid when we got to go to the toy store, even if I didn't get to walk out with anything. Those displays!)

This doll, who is currently 13.64 is one of the ones Target has for just under $37, yes. She's been out since December 2013. Technically she comes with a bit of plastic furniture but it's not like the playset Lizzie Hearts comes with and she's a bargain at the 29.99 price. :P

I think aside from Toys R Us, which has had its own fair share of financial woe, the only actual toy store I can think of around here is Wonder Works and it's mostly educational toys. I know downtown had a few but they cater(ed?) to the rich tourists and that's not the same as like, KB Toys or Children's Palace or Lionel.

God, I miss Children's Palace's displays.

...Yeah, even with her accessories, no way would I pay $37 for that. $14 is more my speed, LOL. That just seems like some really boneheaded pricing - and its not like Target is new to the doll game or anything o.O
