Oh, October

Rain is supposed to crop up tomorrow. Cass is offering to put Widget to work on Sunday to help keep him out of trouble. Did I mention that work is paying us for the weekend when we couldn't come in due to weather difficulties? Huzzah!


To celebrate, I used my points to buy a good chunk of the Halloween Wet n Wild stuff. Well, the LE stuff anyway. I picked up five of the nail polishes and skipped Raven Maven for a couple of reasons:
1) WnW knows black polish. If you can count on them for anything, it's to have a good black polish at Halloween. It's the law, okay? But either the bottle I examined was wonky or there's something funky with RM.
2) Considering I say yes to black polishes more than I should, I figured I could skip this one. I've got others.

The only polish I haven't tried is the green ... yet. My nails are painted in each of the other colors. If you go for the silver/black glitter, keep in mind that the first attempt may only yield a bit of glitter but it gets better. The gold glitter looks like it's the flakie kind but it's not. Huzzah!

I snagged one of the balm stains (Weeping Willow) because Coral Courtship (is that the name?) looked awfully orange and I don't look good in orange. Woe.

Oh, luxken27, I don't know if you've found this elsewhere or you're interested, but the Wet n Wild gift boxes have started to arrive. There's a brush set, a mini mascara set, and some eyeshadows that may be the glitters of blah or may be awesome, I didn't get a good look. The palettes haven't shown up yet that I've found. If you're looking for the Halloween side panel, try near the deodorant.

Looking at these swatches is making me wish I'd grabbed the Halloween palettes. I'll likely resist, though. But I'll want. *grabby hands*

:D You are too good to me, LOL. I'm still trying to recover from my last WnW hunting and gathering, but I guess I better get with the program if I want the Halloween goodies, eh? :)

Yup, especially considering there are only two of each item in the Halloween display. (It's much smaller than last year's, woe.) I tried the green and I am disappointed. It's three coats to a very St. Patrick's Day kinda green and not the nifty green it appears in the bottle. :(

Oh, and I did see the WnW giant palette thing of doom. I swear, it looks huge this year, but since someone stacked jewelry on top of it, I couldn't manage to take a better look without breaking out a ladder.

Yikes! D: Well, I attempted to enter a Wags today and was immediately inundated by the cos lady (at a store I thought I'd be safe in), so I will have to attempt a weekday afternoon or something like that. Plus said Wags didn't even have the display, woe.

Bummer about the green! I was looking forward to that polish. :(

And yeah, the Fergie Palette of Doom is the same as last year's, I think. Lots of cream eyeshadows and stuff I won't use - at least the first one (the one I have) had blushes and face powders and decent shadows in it, heh.

ETA: I did swipe some Fantasy Makers stuff at Target today - the "jewel toned" midnight blue lipstick and the blue mascara, along with the glow-in-the-dark nail polish. So I am feeling some Halloween love, LOL!!

Saturdays = SaturDates where the Cos section is basically forced to sell like crazy. Unless you're my store and then the cos staff calls out and doesn't get in trouble because... I don't know why. Bummer that it didn't even have what you wanted. :(

The green was the ONE polish I was definitely going to get and it's just not what I expected. I don't know why since I'm looking at the bottle now and they do seem to match. Sigh.

I tried peeking at the little $5 palette gift boxes and they look like they're the cream shadows of doom which means my money is safe. Unless I'm wrong and then, well... glitter.

I'll have to make it to Target because you had me at blue mascara and glow in the dark polish.
