Multiple choice, comments would be fantastic

Question, oh enlightened ones:

Let's say you and your friend make plans to see one another later that same day. And let's say you basically convinced your friend to make something for you. Then, sometime that morning/afternoon, your car decides eff it, I'm not working, and thus plans have to change.

Do you
a) not say anything to your friend in case you can get things squared away and plans back on track and they never need to know?
b) let them know every possible update because knowing is half the battle?
c) not say anything until it becomes apparent that dude, this just ain't happening?
d) say nothing, even well after the time you should have made it to their place has come and gone, and when they contact you to make sure you're not lying in a ditch somewhere, bitch them the hell out because your day sucks, but then go ahead and make plans (without consulting them) for the next day even though they have to work because ha, fuck their schedule?
e) something else entirely, will comment with further explanation.


I mean, it's not like I had three days off in a row and would have enjoyed any company on any of them, two of which coincide with someone else's days off. Or that I hate doing shit at dinner time on days I work because it's like if I show up to your house at 4am and want to hang out and you get up at 7am for work.

If I didn't keep vampire hours, it probably wouldn't bug me quite as much, but I do so if someone makes plans with me, I kind of have to shift around my sleep. Which I don't mind doing for the most part, but it sounds like she knew pretty early on in the day that our plans weren't going to work, but I didn't find out about it until 7:30ish, and then only because I asked, nicely, if plans had changed.
