Doesn't it just figure that the one year I decide to completely abstain from betting [bragging or otherwise] on the Oscars is the year I correctly guess 17 of the winners? Yes. Yes it does. Of course, eleven of those were for Return of the King and one was Finding Nemo, but the others were mostly me just musing, looking at the cat, and guessing. Stupid best animated short. That was the beginning of my losing streak. And yes, I was one of those hoping Johnny Depp would win an Oscar, if only because it would prove that hell had indeed frozen over. [shush, those of you who persist in reminding me that according to some accounts, parts of hell are frozen.]
Unfortunately the funniest part of the evening was when I came downstairs and watched with Mom and we discussed how sad it was that RotK had apparently no actors, but could still be the best movie despite this lack of flesh and blood on screen. Funny stuff, but I've long since forgotten the exact quotes. :( I laughed and caused laughter though.

And I don't even know why I continued to watch the awards since I originally only planned on tuning in to see Angelina Jolie and then tune out until the end to see if RotK actually won.

Now I'm off to die because my right arm hurts like you would not believe. No, seriously. Pain.
*cries ever so melodramatically*

Halfway during the Oscars, I decided I wanted "Seabiscuit" to win Best Movie because the reactions would be too funny. Sadly, I knew there was no chance of it - but hey, it was possible. Oh well. I got my snark filled by the producer of the Best Foreign Language film who proclaimed she was grateful LOTR wasn't eligible in that category. :p
