Oh, look. An intro to Lea. It's only taken half of forever, right? For those who wondered, Lea1 is in her box awaiting pickup tomorrow. The return postage slip didn't show up until... Friday? Maybe Thursday? Anyway, it took awhile and I wasn't going over the weekend, man. Just no. Alas, I didn't remember until this morning that one could have the USPS pick packages up these days. Whoops.
Anyway. On to Lea!
I'll spare you the agony of waiting for pictures to load or links to be clicked: I did not wind up with an evil Lea. Either time, honestly. I'm a little bummed about this, and doubly so considering Cass is all "Charlotte trip in May, yeaaaaaaaaah!"* but that's a rant for later.

Meet Lea. :) She and I are going to have a super complicated relationship, so while she may not look evil, she is. She just hides it. Which, I suppose, is the most evil thing of all.
My feelings on Lea are many and few at the same time. On the one hand, she's a lovely doll and I'm pretty sure when I find the right outfit(s) for her, she's going to sing to me. On the other hand, well... I had the chance to twin her and I didn't. That right there should tell you something, especially since I would have gotten #2 for a sale price, I think. Of course, it could just be that I'm pretty much at the point of being pretty content with what I have, so...
Anyway.

Lea suffers from the same problem Kanani does: they're too monochromatic for me at times. The hair and the skin don't look super similar in these shots, I guess, but in person she washes herself out. The hazel eyes don't help at all and I really think brown eyes would have actually helped avoid this, but AG's got eleventy billion pairs of hazel eyes to get rid of so I guess we're stuck. :P

Look. She knows I'm saying less than glowing things about her. Run for your lives!

One last less than perfect thing: while her hair is super soft and this wig doesn't have the obvious chunky highlights that Lea1 did, her hair kinda needs to be brushed right out of the box. But it's got curls and I don't brush those until I have to because BAD THINGS, k? It was basically everywhere at all times and it didn't help when Ozma would 'help' things along.

Pretty thick. It photographs blonde, but in person it's definitely light brown with blonde highlights. Basically, for the rest of forever Lea and McKenna are going to be used as lightning rods for determining blonde/brown. I'm not looking forward to that, fandom.

I actually like her dress more than I thought I would. It would probably pop a bit more if her hair were darker (maybe?) or her skin happened to be darker, but it works all the same. It's bright and cheerful, bordering on obnoxious if you've got a headache. But mostly it's cheerful.

The back Velcros up pretty easily.

Weird shot to show you that the patterns do not line up on the side. I thought it would bother me more than it does, but I don't fault anyone who considers this a deal breaker.

Front of sandals that just slide on. Lea2 showed up with one of her shoes off. It's one of the ways I knew she'd wind up staying. I go barefoot most of the time, love. I like the style of the shoes, but I don't like the color combo of the laces and the rest of the shoe. It offends me. Deeply.

Back of the shoes, complete with Velcro though I'm not sure you'd ever actually need to use it? Seriously, the laces are stretchy.

Her bag is pretty stiff and not exactly a joy to touch. Your mileage may vary.

Velcro!

Plastic compass necklace that does have a spinner that spins, unlike Kit's which is just a sticker. AG, c'mon. You've got to figure out a better way to do this.
I'm glad the necklace and the bag were included with the doll instead of being shoved into the accessory set like her camera, but I wish I liked the bag more.

You can adjust the length of the necklace. Unless you're me and then your fingers just refuse to work properly and it's just gonna get faked out. It's cute and I think she's gonna be one of those girls who wears her necklace more often than not.

Overall I give Lea a solid B. She's very pretty but she isn't super wow right off the bat. We'll see if she's a sleeper like some of mine have been... (Saige)

...that's not what I meant by a sleeper, Lea...

Grace and Lea hang out for a second to show that Lea does have a medium skintone and that the Josefina mold really should be used more often. Also, sorry, Gracie. This is an awful shot of you. :(

Ozma is not here for this smear campaign. She's kind of adopted Lea. They hang out under my still up tree and discuss my many failings. ("It's 7am, she's failed to feed me." / "It's Wednesday, she's failed to change my outfit. Again.")
