MH minis!

So Mattel sent out an email for this:


A few days ago. And I thought about it for a little while and then jumped because dude, I wanted those minis dammit and my pre-order elsewhere was a failure AND my walmarts didn't get jackshit.
I wasn't really sure what I was getting, though. See, it says 18 figures but only 12 are shown. Since I've been so stabbity about not having the option to snag any locally, I haven't kept up with the minis appearing so I have/had no idea if Jinafire, Toralei, Skelita, Twyla, Deuce, or Robecca had popped up or if it was just these twelve. Still, instant collection...
What the heck, I said, and ordered it.

It showed up within three days so heck yes to quick shipping (suck it, AG!). I was mostly expecting the minis not in boxes/bags and just kind of... a collection? I'm not sure how to word it. Not in their full blind bag glory, I suppose.

So I wasn't expecting a very big box given how small the minis are. Imagine my surprise when a big ol' brown box appeared on my doorstep about half an hour ago.

So no little coffins (I guess that was a Walmart exclusive) but the bags do have a little jewel window on the back so you can see who you're getting. Sorta. Ari and Moanica and Catrine make things a smidge difficult if you're afraid of smooshing them around too much (I don't want paint rubs since I paid for all of them, dammit) but in store that's probably less of a concern. :P

I took a moment to bask in the glow of this adorable box. Seriously, it's so cute.

My only real complaint about this whole thing is that they keep saying Wave 1, right? And you get 18 figures, right? Well, you get the twelve pictured on Mattel's site, and then you get the main six (Ari is part of the main six for this, I believe) doubled. I wasn't 100% sure on this until I opened my third bag and it was Draculaura. Again. Sigh. So I went on an opening binge and I still have four or five unopened, but I looked through the window on those.

I emailed Mattel to let them know they might want to make it clear you're not getting all of Wave 1 and only the ones shown on the page and also maybe mention you're gonna get doubles. I also asked if there was a release date for the final six because if anyone's box should have included EVERYONE, it should've been the one straight from Mattel. Plus they might know and it never hurts to ask politely.

I'll let you know if I get a response.

Since I needed a new air filter, I figured I'd try my Walmarts. Alas, I struck out at both, but they're both swimming in clearance stuff so maybe when that gets sorted through they'll get some in. I did snag fearleader Ghoulia in Megablok form, so thanks for the head's up. I probably wouldn't have looked otherwise!
