I do so love getting mail
Jul. 30th, 2016 08:31 amThe other day B&BW put their Wallflowers on sale again. I'd said no to the sale they did not too long before (as in maaaaaaybe a couple of days?) and then they threw a coupon in and a few fall plug-ins and I was sold. (Naturally yesterday I saw the Owl and I'd have totally picked that had it been an option when I ordered, but alas.)
I've never tried them before and I wasn't sure whether I'd even like them. I'm mostly Scentsy these days because I have a billion warmers (and bars) but I've heard generally good things and I really wanted to give the Marshmallow Fireside one a whirl. Soooooo... I went a little nuts before reigning myself in just a smidge.
My box arrived yesterday and after a minute of being unable to count (...judge away), this is what I got.

I wound up with the cream/natural pumpkin plug in. The orange one is probably prettier/definitely far more fall/Halloween-y, but I wanted one that would work in the downstairs bathroom or the kitchen if it turned out that I'm not a fan. The kitchen is red and the bathroom is green sooo cream works. Plus it's pretty.
Two packs of:

Marshmallow Fireside (smells pretty similar to the candle)
Apple Crumble (unless some weird chemical thing happens, this is also yummy)
Farmstand Apple which is either identical (or so close you can't really tell) to
Singles of:

Honeycrisp Apple. Seriously, they're pretty much the same thing. Luckily I like them both.

Harvest Gathering (it's the prettiest green and smells like what I remember last year's candle to smell like)

Black Cherry Merlot (pretty purple and I wanted to see if it was less boozy in WF form)

Warm Apple Pie - which I snagged two of and it smells so weirdly chemical that Mums immediately turned green and handed it back. To be fair, she wasn't feeling great so it's not fair to fully blame the scent. But it definitely smells different than I expected. I should check the second one to see if maybe the first is a dud or if this is how they're supposed to smell. Then I might try it so I'll have time to return it.
ETA: Before I fell asleep this morning, I tried the Marshmallow Fireside since I knew how it should smell and figured that might be a good thing when attempting to figure out how well something new was performing. I dunno, it made sense at the time. Anyway, it wasn't anything super awesome when I was reading before bed, nor was it anything to write home about any time I got up for something. It was there, and I'm pleased to note that the fireside part isn't too overpowering, at least while you're in the room with it. It's in my vanity area and that room itself is very small but leads to the bedroom and the scent doesn't travel all that far. Yet. We'll see how it goes.

If I like even a couple of these enough, I'll be snagging this for Mums.
Now I'm off to figure out which one to try first...
