impyI'm going to try and keep this short because I really should be asleep (work tonight) but I also wanted to note a few opinions so that future!me can refer back to this when she's shopping or pondering whether to buy something or not. Ready?
Went to BBW with Cass and Matt this afternoon. Got to wear my new Nightmare Before Christmas shirt. Which might seem a little Halloween-y, but considering the front is chiffon, it's pretty sheer and I'd freeze in the colder days. It's pretty comfy, though I'm gonna need to find a better shirt to wear under it since my tank is too short.
I walked out of the store with a shower gel of Beach Nights - Summer Marshmallow and a regular lotion of it as well. They were all out of the Shea Cream, alas. I snagged a mini Live Fresh cream to try it out. I grabbed a few Wallflowers (2 Pumpkin Apple, 1 Fireside Pumpkin, I think, and I'll edit the fourth one in when I remember. Berry Pumpkin Strudel! That's it. Alas, they had no Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallows. SADNESS.) and tried to snag the pretty nightlight Owl but they were out. WOE. I also grabbed a Pumpkin Apple Cider (Cass and I were doing a combo thing and it was the scent I wanted to try out well enough to throw in) lotion, even though I need another lotion like a hole in the head. :P
I really liked Pumpkin Apple Cider and was pretty happy with Pumpkin Cupcake in most of its forms. (The candle smells amazing.) I found that my relationship with Pumpkin Pecan Waffles is complicated because the tester candle for the Wallflowers has the same weird... fried? Savory? Something off note. But the candle they had burning in the front of the store smelled so good that Cass and I both commented on it.
I was less taken with Salted Caramel Pumpkin but it wasn't bad. Ditto to Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin in bodycare.
Coconut Pumpkin Latte wasn't awful and Pumpkin Berry Crumble was a mixed bag. I thought it smelled off, Cass visibly recoiled, and Matt was "eh". Pumpkin Cranberry Cider smelled really good and I'm betting Mom would like it, too.
Candle wise: Pumpkin Banana Muffin smelled good, if light. I think I tried Pumpkin Coconut and found it deceptively nice, but now I'm not sure. Pumpkin Cupcake as mentioned was fantastic, and Cass really liked Caramel Pumpkin Swirl. Pumpkin Apple remains my love, as does Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow. I really liked Berry Pumpkin Strudel and Pumpkin French Toast is really nice if you like Maple. Pumpkin Pie is what it says on the tin (well, it's the filling anyway) and I definitely understand why a lot of people don't like Pumpkin Woods. It's... a thing. It's not as bad as I thought it would be, but it's probably not coming home with me ever. I remember liking Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte but I've heard nothing good about how well it works as a scented candle. Cranberry Woods is pretty spiffy and I'm definitely going to try and snag a Cider Lane since it really does smell like caramel and apples. Flannel is more interesting to me than Sweater Weather but neither are scents I really see myself liking enough to buy. Mahogony Apple smelled exactly like I thought it would (if you don't like Mahogany Teakwood, avoid. If you do, you'll like this one.) and Crisp Autumn Air I have no real memory of. Autumn Sunshine smelled pretty good and Heirloom Apple was meh. Not bad, not good, just... meh.
Champagne Apple & Honey isn't super thrilling, though I did like Golden Pear & Brown Sugar. I think. It was really hard to tell on anything from this table because it was so close to the candle which had taken over the entire front of the store. I'm pretty sure I didn't like Orchard Leaves & Blue Sky, however.
Cass and I both fell in love with the giant pocket pac holder (looks like an orange Hello Kitty face sort of) but it's huuuuuuuuuge. I guess it's for keeping on your desk or something because it's not terribly portable.
The blanket they were hawking at every turn was sooooooo soft, but unless you were spending that much anyway, I definitely understood why not a one sold the entire time we were there.
Zzzquil and sun are kicking in, so I think I'm gonna go see if I can sleep. I'm sure I'm forgetting some things (I really liked the metal 3 wick Haunted House and the pumpkin candle holder, but not enough to spend that much on.)
