impyNew AG Character Encyclopedia? Release date is 7/4/2017.
Let's see, what's new? Left a note at work for whichever A is making the schedules these days in the hopes that I'll get my regular days off back. Wasn't sure if I should include the fact that the other two ladies who work overnight would also like their days off together as well, so I went with a general "if you work 3rd shift, splitting days off is like not getting a full day off at all" thing instead. They loathe one of them and I'm not sure how they feel about the other so... eh. Seriously though, I can't sustain this whole not a full 24 hours away from that place thing. It's a dealbreaker for me.
Work had quite a few lulls last night, so I flipped through holiday magazines on my breaks. Am I the only one who does so and then gasps in horror at the hideousness people pass off as design? Because half the time my flipping through home decor magazines goes like this:
meh, meh, meh, that's kinda cute, I like the idea but what is that color choice, meh, meh, meh, HOLYHELLWHYWOULDYOUDOTHAT with about a thousand more mehs thrown in and occasionally I'll fall in love with something.
Holiday time, however, ups the number of "ew, why" comments considerably. For instance, Christmas trees. I really wish I'd snapped a picture of the one that made me stop and internally scream in horror because, yes, it was that bad. When you can't see the actual tree at all, you've decorated too much. (It's different if you're going for the illusion of a tree without there being an actual one there, but this was not the case. And also it was still hideous.)
Basically, I wandered away with the knowledge that rich people decorate more strangely than when I was a child and that country Christmas is oddly washed out and involves a lot of signs. :P
On the mail front, I'm debating giving Birchbox one more month to wow me or if I should save that $10 next month and use it for something else. This month's box was awful. D: Even the month where stuff arrived broken and had leaked on everything else at least had interesting stuff (the replacement kit, not so much but still). This is the same hairspray they've sent at least twice before, a blush that's so tiny I can't figure out how you'd realistically use it, eye cream, a weird conditioner, and hand cream that looks like something already exploded on it. It's been awhile since I took a look at my box and went "yeah, nope" but this was an almost immediate "I should cancel" kind of moment.
On the flipside, my AG wishbook came! :D Apparently the key to getting one is to not send back a little card that says, "I still love you, AG!" Gotta play hard to get.

I'm trying to get less retarded about makeup but its a slow process. :P I looked at the last two months of birch and it doesn't seem too bad but not terribly exciting. Like if i want to sample stuff i want the daring risky things and not just more black eyeliner to throw on the pile. Have you tried ipsy? At least its in a cute bag. I'm sad I missed the halloween one...

And when you don't wear makeup and suddenly do, people comment. A lot. It's lipgloss, people, not the end of the world!
(But does anyone notice when my lashes are green? Noooooo, of course not.)
I've been tempted by Ipsy but never pulled the trigger. I think the last time I seriously contemplated it was when Sephora was all, "Surprise! You're on the list, now gimme your money."
