BeForever sneak peeks
Feb. 10th, 2017 09:38 amIn my ongoing determination to forget that yesterday was the day my dad had his stroke that ultimately killed him (well, I mean it didn't help that the hospital didn't seem to notice or care that he wasn't eating anything even after Mums brought it up but I digress), we shall turn our focus to new BeForever goodies. Because I like shiny things and I like some of the shiny things we'll be seeing next week.
As you're about to witness from the sheer number of things for Ms. Albright, Julie is clearly the Samantha of today. Which is awkward considering Samantha is right there and they continue to gut her collection. Poor Sam. I still love you.
Julie's Bathroom is rumored to be $175

I would like to say that the price tag will definitely hold me back but... I can't say that it will. It might, but I suspect a sale will come along and I will cave and you will be subjected to picspam of dolls in the bathroom of a scale that is just ridiculous. :p Her hairstyling set seems to have been incorporated into this, which kind of sucks if you had that already and wanted this. On the other hand, now Ivy and Julie don't have to share? I want to snark the orange so much but I can't because my parents had these garish orange/red/yellow towels and I hated them so much that I was sure they hated them, too. So when my brother and I smuggled the hamsters home, we used one of those towels to put on the bottom of our little makeshift cage and naturally hamsters did what hamsters do and chewed them up and I thought my mother would kill me more for the towels than the rodents.
Anyway, I love this eyesore and I have no shame about it either.
But I would totally puke if I had to be in a bathroom that looked like this when I was at all under the weather. *twitches*

Hey, look, that outfit that leaked eons ago is definitely Julie's despite numerous people insisting that the skirt meant it had to be for Tenney. Ivy has made the grabby hands and I shall not resist because I still think it's a pretty outfit.

Accessories for that outfit. The bracelet looks interesting but the true test will be how it looks on.

Basketball outfit. I'm pretty sure she was/is slated to get a hoop, too. Cuteness, though it's a very simple uniform.

Rebecca's outfit looks much better here than it did as a leaked prototype. Still not a big fan of the boots but I like the outfit overall. This goes with her Coney Island game set, I think.

Maryellen's swimsuit. Look, I don't care about the outfit itself all that much but the purse has me cackling forever. I dig the shoes and glasses, but I would bet money that hairbow is a damn pony-o and they belong in hell.

Kit's mini golf set. I mean...it's a thing and you can play.

I...uh...well... Maybe I'll like this better in person or other photos. As is, I'm gonna be skipping it.

TAKE MY MONEY. I mean... no, that's what I meant. Ruthie and company have a mighty need.
Assorted modern stuff, I believe:

New volleyball outfit. It's cute though I don't see myself buying it simply because sports, meh. Though of all sports, volleyball is one I hated playing in gym the least. (Because people would assume I sucked at it, they'd inevitibly try and send the ball my way, figuring aha! Easy. And when things come flying at me, I either step aside Daria style, or I smack them back where they came from. I think I hit a girl in the head. Eventually they figured it out.)

Cooler set. Cass is right, there's a lot of orange in this release.

New ballet outfit. I am underwhelmed. Have I hit my limit for ballet outfits, or am I simply waiting for something snazzier? Who knows. Possibly just a little burned out still from Izzy's reign of terror.

The new spring/Easter dress, I would presume. Um... meh. It's weird not liking the spring dress, but I find them very hit or miss. This just looks like it would feel like umbrella fabric. Not really my thing. I could eat my words when they officially roll out though.
I think there's a new TM swimsuit coming, too, but maybe I imagined that or it was really one of the after Christmas releases. Dunno.
In any case, overall I don't think there's anything I hate and a couple of things I ♥ annnnnnnnd nothing I would say no to if being gifted with it, y'know? So at this point I'm going to consider this leg of the release a success.

Date: 2017-02-11 12:08 pm (UTC)Y'know, outfit #1 totally does and I love everything it chooses to be. Maybe this will be the year I finally get off my ass and customize my Dawn into being! And if not, well, she'll have that outfit waiting for her. ;)
That flamingo bag is worth the price of admission and I will regret nothing.
I'm sad that in all my years of golfing with Dad, all I ever ran across was the preppy bland golf clothing. Never the eye searingly ugly.
Kit's blue dress and Julie's Dawn outfit are both want ASAP and ME's flamingo purse outfit will probably jump in because flamingo purse.
It does look like an Izzy thing, right? But it's like Izzy's stuff crossed with a couple of their other ballet outfits and out popped that.
I wish the teal dress's print faded in like it fades out at the bottom. Or maybe it doesn't fade out and my eyes are just not working properly. Still, yay for teal in general and also yay for it not being a full on pink dress.
