Better late than never?

impySo now that it's March, it's totally the perfect time to share pictures of the Army in their holiday gear, right? Right, right, of course. Naturally my camera's batteries were dying and it took a lot of conning my camera into thinking the batteries were new to finish this. I'd known I was going to need batteries but thought I still had a full pack in my room but they disappeared. No idea if I used them or if Widget borrowed them or what. Sigh. Anyway, without further excuse, here we go.
Note, I did divvy the group up because otherwise you'd see no one or I'd have fallen over. Also, the cat did 'help' so there's that. :p

The problem with doing this on my bed is that once one doll starts to tilt, they all do. Anyway, Lane is wearing what she's been wearing since 2013 for holiday shots. #27 is showing off Grace's totally 80's dress, Jade is in Rebecca's original Hanukkah outfit, Sonali is in part of the teal somethingorother outfit (not wearing the leggings), Saige is in the pretty purple dress, Kaya's wearing the Etsy outfit I got one year, Lea's in Kanani's party dress, and HTA is in the holiday outfit from what, 2001? Yeah. It's a really pretty color, but it's definitely an outfit that was dated very quickly. But oh, oh how Cass and I love(d) it. Every year I think I should buy another outfit that shade of blue and every year I fail to do so.
Anyway, this is mostly more modern, less obviously holiday outfits. I tried to keep the group shots from being too clash-y and I think it worked out okay. From this group, I think Saige, Lea, and Lane are in my favorite looks although Jade actually worked really well in that outfit.
Every year I think I'm going to put Saige in something new (I think she did wind up in the sequin-y blue dress once) but she looks so pretty in this dress that I think of it as hers, honestly. Sonali looks super cute in this color, but the headband definitely does not help this look quite holiday-ish. Not that it's marketed as such but when the army is so large, you gotta make things work.
In case you wanted to compare the dark blue eyes with Marie Grace's eyes.
Did I review this? Probably, but still, why not do it again? I hate the hair thing. Hate it. I think if I had it on one of the curly haired girls it would be okay but as it is, it's just "and here's a pink puff growing out of the side of our girl's head." Weird. Love everything else, however.
Self, why did you not tug the dress down so poor Sonali didn't look like she was being swallowed by this thing? Sigh. Again, see the bed issue. The shoes are weird and the fabric around the ankles slides around too much and all together it's a little too matchy. (It's why the leggings aren't included for the holiday look.) I do like this, however, and I think it looks really nice when shown with the Peachy dress you'll see on Felicity later on.
Lea is judging me. Forever.

Hannah's wearing Rebecca's new Hanukkah dress, Leia's in the easter dress from a few years ago, Ivy's in the double bow blue dress, Felicity's in the peachy party dress, and MG's in Emily's holiday dress. Ruthie is in the blue sequin dress of love and Molly is wearing the Sapphire dress with Emily's cardigan and really, I love this look on her.
Love both looks, honestly and they're probably my favorite looks of this group. Grey eyes, too. <3
Again, this isn't exactly the most holiday looking group but... I like 'em.
Did not realize that dress was so sheer that you could see through the top bits in places. o_O

Jess is in Kit's holiday dress which is not my favorite. It feels weird, it looks weird (hell, it looks weird in the catalogs) and enh. Lizbeth is in Sam's Cranberry dress and it's not my favorite either. McKenna's in Maryellen's holiday dress, Nellie's in the Scarlett Snow outfit she wears more often than not, and Grace 2 is in the bubble dress from a few years ago. She looks surprisingly cute, tbh. Samantha is in Nellie's dress that looks better on Sam, Kanani's in the cream dress of love, and Grace 1 is in the Etsy sweater dress I got a few years ago.
Sorry for the flash blinding, but I like Lizbeth in Sam's dress more than I thought I would.
In case you wanted to compare freckles on Josefina molds. So many Josefina molds in one group. ♥
Maryellen's dress is... different. It photographs weirdly (the shrug is cream, not white) so this is probably the closest to accurate as I got. I don't really like the sideways bow at the waist and honestly, if you put this on a Bitty baby (not the shrug) it wouldn't look terribly off. Also, AG, we gotta talk about where the hell you're putting those tags because headbands are not the place for them, dammit!
Still, McKenna looks cute.

Kirsten's in Molly's green dress, Cece's got her own holiday dress, and Lena's got Addy's holiday dress on. This photographs weirdly at the neck but in person it's nice.
In case you wondered about the differences in Cece's hair and #26's.

Stop shrieking, human, claws mean love. (I really love the sparkles on Ruthie's dress.)
She didn't let me get a decent shot of her because it's really hard to photograph her as she's climbing up your torso. :p
I did put the new stuff on for the most part but like I said, no batteries. WOE. Might edit the initial reviews with more thoughts and then take pictures when the batteries charge (assuming they do. It's been awhile...)

Addy got a lot of plaid things, didn't she? I say this because I like that dress, and recall a similar blue plaid dress for something or other that I also admired. Hmm...

Annnd I'm pretty sure she's got at least three plaid things that I can think of off the top of my head. Her Christmas dress, her last LE dress (the blue and purple sewing dress), and I believe she got a pink/peach dress as well. There could be more in her past LE dresses because her retired stuff tends to be pricey and so I don't look because then I weep.
