I Just Can't Walk Away

I believe way back before my vacation I said I was going to blather on needlessly about EAH dolls, right? Well, it's taken awhile because for a line that reissues itself like mad (even over releasing new dolls) there's still a lot to go through and consider. Also, I'm lazy so that probably didn't help, and my insistence on using pictures did me no favors either. In any case, I've finally possibly finished. ;)


Fav versions of each character. We're not including the smiley molds for Raven (well, hers is a smirk), Apple, or Maddie since I don't think they're officially out yet. (And CS is denying they're even a thing. Woo?) We're also either not going to include anyone who only has one version or we're gonna dump them all in one spot. I'll figure it out. Oh, and lines that haven't hit are also (mostly) excluded for now.

You get absolutely no points if you can tell who two of my likely favorites are. Maddie and Raven. ♥ Maddie is a toned down Pinkie Pie, breaking the 4th wall like it doesn't exist and Raven totally reminds me of Duchess Ravenwaves is inadvertently living up to her mother's legacy by throwing a monkey wrench in everyone's plans. Which is totally an evil queen thing to do! Only... Raven doesn't mean for it to be evil.

Which leaves Apple White to be our villain, though it's not like she means to be the villain. A little Apple is going to go a very, very long way.

A very long way. But she's still better than Daring.

I'd imagine it will not be safe to venture into the EAH tags on tumblr for long because Apple/Raven is already sailing off into the hate 'ship realm. If that's your thing, congrats! It's bound to be a fun ride.


I'll be over here hoping they don't send Maddie too far into the atmosphere. I'm also looking forward to seeing what they get up to with Briar Beauty. (Her jump from the window was fun.) Also thinking Cedar is going to be cute, as is Cerise. (Mattel: Don't drag out the reveal that she's Big Bad's kid too long, k? It's obvious and I hate long, drawn out reveals that are meant to shock but are really "yeah, we know" moments.)

I love the idea that Grimm is lying about the stories going poof and using it to keep the kids in line. (My assumption, anyway.) It's sad that I'm already awaiting that moment when Apple White realizes it's not fair to force Raven to conform to something she doesn't want, but Raven's ready to do it because to do otherwise would mean that Apple and the lesser Daring would cease to exist and she's not that evil because if she were, she'd actually be the evil queen and things just got twisty in the logic center.

It's actually my favorite thing about this, how dark this could've gone and could go in fanfic since I doubt a doll line is going to go there. Skirt the edges, yes, but not fullblown rip your heart out.

And let's take a moment to cackle at the poor sod who is crying over everyone comparing Maddie to Pinkie Pie instead of her father, the Mad Hatter. I should think the Hatter is obvious, dollface, given this entire franchise is built on the notion that you become your parents whether you like it or not. So saying "OMG, Maddie is totally the Mad Hatter!" is so painfully stupid you just lost the right to live. I get the annoyance because Pinkie isn't the only nutjob out there, but since she owes a great deal to the Hatter... accept that it's all leading back to your precious Hatter. Which you lose points if you're thinking Depp first and foremost. You just do. (Unless you are a person I love masquerading as someone I do not on tumblr in which case we shall talk this out.)


  Thing is, I have no idea how the dolls will look. No one does, or if they do they aren't talking. Anyway, let's say that they'll be compatible with MH as that would be a pretty smart move and likely given Cupid jumping ship (not that it makes any sense at this point). I will likely need any and all Ravens. And Maddies. And Cedars. Just cuz. I will need Apple White's outfit. I don't see this line taking all my money forever. Which is good.

Because I don't think I can handle Mattel owning that much of my soul.
