I liked the idea of this one, but like the other BB Dakota item I tried (the sweater dress) it's itchy as hell. It wasn't baggy on me (a size up would've been awesome) but it had these weird little points on the shoulder where I'm guessing it was on a hanger and it molded to that shape. It wasn't cute as it looked like I had horns. I sent it back since it was dry clean only so I couldn't wash it to try and fix the itchy horns.

I put this one in the ol' closet because I was curious. Naturally since it was new, they sent it right away. (If you wind up trying GB that seems to be how it works: if you closet a brand new item in the first couple of days, especially the first day, that's what you'll be getting next if you're up for a shipment.) Annnnnd it looked awful on me. I promise you, it was so bad not even my mother could keep a straight face. Sigh. In the picture it looks kind of like generic shapes but in person and on, sweet Jesus no.

This is one I got in dress and shirt form. I wanted to love the dress so much but... it looked like fall threw up on me. And I'm going to agree with the person who said it's really made for someone with larger breasts and smaller hips. I, alas, am the inverse of this so this thing looked awful on me. Which I could have maybe ignored or worked with (the latter) if the colors looked good on me. Which they didn't. Siiiiiigh.

I really did like that top, though.

Like the sweater, I was really looking forward to this one. I... don't know why, but I guess I'm an idiot? The sequins (I know) in the picture initially looked like it would go across your chest but in reality, you've got a giant starburst over your left boob. It's just weirdly placed. It's a chiffon top, so it's floaty, sort of, and kind of sheer. But the real downside of this thing is that the bottom of the shirt isn't loose at all, it's actually strangely tight. Like they realized the whole thing might be too flowy, so they had to introduce "structure" somewhere, and it resulted in being squeezed most unexpectedly.
Overall, it reminded me of something Blanche would wear on Golden Girls. Not a look I'm ready to chase just yet.

This was another closet on Day 1 get it ASAP. I don't know if I put in for the wrong size or they just sent a size smaller or what, but holy crap. There's very little give to the dress at all, so while I was able to get it on, the top felt like it was going to strangle me. The bottom was kind of flowy, but not enough to offset the being strangled thing.

Oddly enough, I was set to hate how it looked on me, but it actually looked pretty good aside from the hips of doom. So if it had been less straitjacket up top, I might've been tempted to wear this one out and about just for funsies. As it is, back it'll go to end my subscription.

If I was ever truly tempted to buy one item, it would have been this one. It was freakishly comfortable and I felt adorable in it... until I looked in the mirror. And then I was still comfy, but I was comfy while wearing a thousand sort of mini lattes. It was a weird look. If there less lattes on the fabric or it was a plain blue (actually more of a blue-green shimmer going on in reality) tunic, I would've bought it. Seriously comfy. I'll miss you, latte shirt. I also know that this style is comfy and looks okay on me, it was just the print.

There's one more item I have at home and I'm going to see if they'll send something out tomorrow before I hit the eject button.

Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth a whirl if you're considering it. The free trial, if you keep on top of things, yields a decent amount of items. If you're less call-phobic than I am, you might even get extra time if they screw you over. (Definitely don't bother to email then. I had another issue and emailing was useless. You get a quick answer but it's not going to be one you want.) And it was basically just timing me out of a week's worth of stuff, which might not really apply to you if you're like Cass and hold onto things longer.

I'd also recommend it if you're dieting or sizes for whatever reason, since you'll get new pieces without having to commit to them in the wrong size.

I don't think I'll be walking away with buying anything but I could have if I'd wanted. It wasn't a bad time, it just didn't yield anything permanent aside from the knowledge that wrap dresses are tricky and those tunics are awesome. And that alone is knowledge to help me in the future.

I'm so ready for fall to fully kick in. It's been dreary and overcast most of the week (well, since Cass's birthday) and that's been happy making, but it's been a little too warm most of the time. Knock it down a few degrees please, Mother Nature. Or kick up the breeze (but not back up to tornado warning territory)?

I owe some GB updates. Pretty sure that after my last dance with their customer service rep, I will definitely not be prolonging my trial. I've basically been without anything for a week and for a free month, that's kind of unacceptable, really. Sunday, I hit the button that tells them I'm returning an item, which is supposed to trigger the next available item in my closet to ship, or prep for shipping. Every other time I've returned something, that's what's happened. Sometimes it takes 24 hours for them to do anything, but I figured by the time I came home Tuesday that it would be at least in the "We're sending you this sometime soon, yay!" portion of our dance. Which is really all I was asking for at that point. Before I left Monday, I alerted them to my return of a second item.

Come Tuesday night, nothing on the first item. Huh. Well, maybe tonight. I went to work and came back home and nothing. So I sent an email just making sure that things were a-okay and I got an almost instantaneous response that told me that they were well within their time frame and for me to basically chill out. (It wasn't quite that rude but it was pretty dismissive.) Points for returning my email in a timely manner, but more points taken off for not really making me want to stick around.
Despite the email's assurance that they were already processing my next box, nothing in my account showed this... until nearly midnight on the 24th when I was sent a tracking # for my new shipment. Which won't get here til Monday. So that's kind of... shitty. It's the first shipping issue I've run across with them and Cass says that she's had incredible luck calling them, but I hate calling and I have no intention at this point of giving them money soooooooo... I dunno.

I cackled when I got an email Thursday morning with a little survey on how well their customer service went. I mean, you answered my question, but you didn't actually HELP me either.

But the two items being sent are ones I'm excited about, so we'll see how they work out. And yes, I owe reviews for the stuff I sent back, but I'm really, really tired so it'll have to wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow's got a lot of stuff penciled in. Hang Halloween lights, decorate, get my Hallo-Scentsy stuff, take pictures of AG stuff (this might get moved to Monday, especially if the dreary weather continues. I love it, but it's not the best for photos in my room.) including pictures of Grace 2. G2 is totally ruining my plans to make her into Dawn. Boo, G2. Boo.

I got my first shipment from Gwynnie Bee Friday. I tried them on really quick before work Friday night and uh, sent two of them back Saturday. Because I can. Muhahaha...

Anyway.

We begin with our two decided "No Thank You, Ma'am" offerings:

BB Dakota Yuma Sweater Dress (Black)
This one was a long shot because I didn't think it would fit and it had some... special reviews. I needed to hit 25 and I figured what the hell, y'know? So naturally this was the first thing they sent. :P

It comes with a slip and I slid that on and all was peachy. I put the dress on and it fit, although it basically said, "Hi, I am a meatball in a dress. Weird." So fit may be debatable, truly. But it didn't matter because as comfy as the bottom part of the dress was, anywhere the dress touched skin (so basically my chest) it itched like fiiiiiiiiiire. Nope! I can't work with that.

It had all of one review (not good, either) and I needed to hit 25. :P I figured, again, what the hell. I tried it on and I liked the way it felt. The weird neckline wasn't weird on me and it was actually a really good length on me. It might not have been the prettiest dress ever, but it wasn't bad. Except... the print. It looked like a sofa threw up on me, so back in it went.

I actually really like this one. I plan on wearing it the next time I take the dog out for her walk since it's a bit cooler today and I might not fry trying it. Just looking at the colors makes me happy, although it's probably not something that looks spectacular on me. I'll edit this after I wear it for more than a couple of minutes. This one is clearly still at home.
