You get me
Feb. 21st, 2003 01:22 amTonight's chuckle:
Over at the Fearless boards, someone claims to be working on the TV show, and were trying to justify the changes from the books to the in progress TV show. Namely, why Gaia seems to age at least 5 years and is suddenly working for the FBI [which, if anyone had read the books, is highly unlikely considering what the government has done to her family...]. The main reason was that it bore a striking similarity to Alias and thus needed some tweaking.
Now, I admit I've never seen a full ep of Alias, but lemme know if this sounds familiar: Young woman lives double life: Works for an agency, kicks butt, and looks good while doing it, yet must hide this from the people who know her. Oh yeah, crazy family life and danger lurks at every corner.
Compare to this: 17/18 year old girl goes to school [sporadically], and attempts to avoid being killed by the people she chooses to fight [since she lacks the fear 'gene'] and her crazy uncle's lackeys who seem hellbent on killing her or the people around her.
I remember that Fearless was compared to Dark Angel since we had a genetic quirk and a guy in a wheelchair working together, but a little less grim and depressing. So, um.. yes.
Anyway, LJ's been wonky, so here's hoping this goes through. Oh, passed my GED and there's a new layout @ Locked In. Ooh. Ahhh. Tara!
