A perfectly lovely day
Sep. 25th, 2018 06:37 pmYesterday was a pretty good day. I woke up later than I intended and decided to hit the pool even though I didn't make it out the door until nearly 1. I figured that if the pool was closed, no big deal, I'd just come home and shower. It was pretty nice and breezy on the way, and actually a little bit cooler than I thought it would be when I checked the weather. It claimed it was an 85-but-feels-like-95 kind of day but hell, if they'd told me it was 79, I might've believed them so long as I wasn't standing in direct sun at the time. Today felt much hotter.
Anyway, once I made it past the dudes playing with the weed whackers, I found the pool open but empty, just the way I like it. The water was pretty dang cold, so I'm glad I didn't try to go at my normal time as I'd have frozen to death. I was only in the pool for maybe two minutes before someone else showed up, but it was the dude who stands in the pool, arms crossed, and is either praying or meditating or... something. I don't know. He wasn't super chatty but not rude about it, so he hung out in the shallow end doing his walking and standing thing and I swam around in the deep end.
It was the perfect September day if I can't have obviously fall weather. Cool enough to make you want to go outside and enjoy the day but still warm enough to be in the pool and not complain the whole time. If that's my last swim of the season, I'll be okay with it. I got to float and splash and maybe I didn't do anything too strenuous, but I also didn't just hold onto the side of the pool and warily eye small children.
I'm going to have to keep an eye on end of the season sales for a chair to sit comfortably in outside just in case we get another day like that.
I didn't complete everything on my To Do list, but I did hang up the bats in the hallway and a few in here and I also set up my little gauze ghosts. The bar area is still a mess and a disappointment, really, but the other areas are coming along okay. I think I'm down to being able to figure out what I need (a sea of batteries and something to interest me outside) and my Halloween decorating is just at the shuffle things around stage until we get closer to the holiday. I don't have to dig for anything beyond the candy bowl at the moment and I know where that is.
Watched the My Little Pony movie that came out, what, last year? It was a thing that was mostly enjoyable. Tempest was nifty and gave me On-X (Rainbow Brite) flashbacks even though they aren't terribly similar anywhere outside my brain probably.
