Note to self: Whenever you're feeling down, watch an episode or twenty of The Golden Girls and you'll feel all better. There are very few things this remedy cannot fix. Physical pain and severe emotional pain [as in someone's died] are the only things I can think of. Everything else? At least it'll lessen the pain. Bonus points if you've got ice cream and cheesecake, obviously.

Of course, if you aren't a fan of that particular GG, then we must have words.

For lack of anything better to occupy my mind, I've been pondering TV shows I've loved over the years. Probably because a fair amount of them are on TV at some time or another, be it Lifetime or TV Land in the morning. For instance, there's Night Court, which made me fall in love with Harry Anderson. And it still makes me giggle like a demented school girl, dammit. It was one of those shows my parents would watch and laugh and I'm not sure if they realized I was still in the room or if it was bonding. Either way, it takes a lot for my parents to agree on something being funny. :p

Yes. Yes, you are.

Ha, I'm barely catching up with stuff from 18 years ago. When you mentioned the new 91210, I was like oh yeah, I should watch that, but reading about it it connects with the old show which I....never watched. But by the powers of fate! Soaptv started showing it from the beginning that very day! But then I got to thinking about Living Single since I saw that on their lineup and I know I watched like near every episode of that show but I cannot recall one detail from it. Not the plot of an episode, not anyone's name or job...it's so weird cause crap like Saved by the Bell stuck with me forever.

Oh and I saw they put my so-called life on dvd which I may have to get since I never watched that either, cause even in middle school I thought it was pretentious. :p

I could only take so much of the old-school 90210. Basically, when Brenda left, I did, too. I'd already mostly checked out when they went to college because, y'know, any show that follows people to college generally goes straight to hell shortly thereafter. I still remember there being some episode where Kelly was having the worst. day. ever. and that was all anyone could talk about on the bus home from school that day. Almost as awesome as the morning spent discussing the X-Men and the cartoon's take on the Dark Phoenix Saga.

It's simple. I think SBtB eats other information in your brain so that you can recite the theme song, or mentally tally everyone who ever guest starred or hell, just showed up at the Max in the background for the rest of your life.

I never got into My So Called Life... for whatever reason. I think it was because I was warned it was misery-making, and at 13, I had enough of that on my own, thank you very much. Doesn't stop me from wanting the super-special-awesome DVD set, though.

And oddly, I remember Queen Latifah was in Living Single and someone's name was Regine. All hail Oxygen playing 44 times a day. [If only they still did that with Xena. Woe is me]

It's sooo weird to see Shannon before she got permanent bitchface. She looks so young and pretty. Of course that damn 90s white fog look helps too. I hope they move it along cause the "subplot" of BAG being a dork and mancrushing on steve is creeping me out and boring me intensely. I always thought BAG was the only cute guy on that show so I hope he hits puberty soon. :/ It's funny to read about the later stuff like Dylan's dad and fiancee being killed by a hitman when right now it's all "omg, brend almost shoplifted!" and "bad girl from the wrong side of the tracks is sad!!"

Yeah, I remember QL and Kim Coles, but i think that's only because of seeing her on Celebrity Fit Club. And some neighbor guy with dreads would come over somtimes to fix things?

What's the special set for MSCL?

Has David's sidekick bitten it yet? Because until that happens, he's squarely in dork territory. After that he becomes one with the in crowd. I think. It's been a very, very long while, so it could just take forever and a day. David was never my favorite, although I'll admit that time has been kind to him.

I loves me some Shannen. :D But it's definitely odd to see her looking so... young. And less like she could kick your ass and more importantly, like she wants to.

I'm thinking I hallucinated the MSCL set of awesome, or my brain just never fully updated from the first time they released it and then when they did so more recently. Which makes me suspect there's some other DVD set I want out there, but I haven't a clue as to what it could be. *muse*

Nah, I'm only like 4 eppies in, but at least I have that to look forward to now! I'm surprised they didn't kill david off tho, cause right now he's tons more annoying. None of them are my favorite, he's just better eye candy when he's older. I thought and still think all the other guys on that show are major ugly. I actually like Jennie garth more than I thought I would. And yeah, Shannen's awesome, Charmed was never the same when she left and Alyssa got to move in and be the star. *gag*

Oh, so it has been released before? I was thinking it had, but I just saw the set at Target and figured it was the first time. Blarg if I know.

The other actor wanted off the show and they needed something dramatic to lure in viewers and critics. So sidekick bit it.

Assuming a) my memory works and b) that's not just the rumor that floated at the time. I thought Jason Priestley was cute. I never did undestand the massive allure that was Luke Perry.

I try not to dwell on Alyssa as the star of Charmed because, well, it hurts me. Deeply. The show was never meant to be a comedy and yet they changed it to exactly that... for some dumbass reason. Ah, the years I spent trying not to notice her boobs falling out of whatever creation they put her in. *shuts her charmed dorky self up*

MSCL was put out on DVD once before after fans begged and pleaded and I think there may have been the sales of first born. But it was a limited thing and not filled with super fun extras.

Oh man, how did this show last? It's like some hybrid of Saved by the Bell and 7th Heaven. I was looking at the upcoming eps to see if that kid's dying soon and they were all just "Brandon falls for *insert trouble girl*" like 5 times in a row, except for the one where Brenda got to fall for somebody. Geez. And their mom toootally creeps me out. Yesterday Brandon had sex for the first time or whatevers and they weren't even like making noise, but the mom's all "quiet! Listen to that!! Omg he's doing it! We should go talk to him! I can hear them!! Why's he doing that?" like OMG lady, just go into denial about it like everybody else. And then she bitches about being there while not actually going out and doing anything...ugh.

Anyways, sorry I just had to rant about that.

Oooh, yes, the later season where every ep was an excuse to pull out a skimpy outfit to show off the funbags. God, I hate her so much. And the cooter tat...*shudder* ;_; Piper was always my fave. ^_^

Where's the Daria boxset then?? Bastards.

It pisses me off that I don't have Daria on DVD yet. What in the hell are they waiting for? The only reason I clung to digital cable so long [waaaaay back when] was because Daria was on The-N. So I had to cry a little when the parentals realized that maybe paying a fortune for ninety billion channels when you watched maybe 20 [max] and only one of them was one of the expensive ones... Bad for money. WOE.

I still remember being blinded by the cooter tat in S4 and shrieking about my eyes. I never thought I'd live to see the day when I looked back sort of fondly on S4, but I'll be damned if the later seasons didn't make me do just that.

Brandon will always fall for the troubled girl. And then she'll try to kill him and everyone he holds dear and then a season and a half later, he'll go back to her because she NEEDS him. I totally don't remember the part with Brandon and his first time and creepy Mom antics. I was sad when they wrote the parents out of the show, though now I cannot think of why. Maybe because they were semi sane? *muse*
